AN ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the Mayor and the Clerk
of the -City of Richmond, Indiana to grant an easement to the State Highway
Commission of Indiana for highway purposes through Starr Park and adjoining
vacated cemetery.
1,EE ,EAS, the State Highway Commission of Indiana has determined -to
improve and relocate a portion of U.S. Highway 27 in and near the northern
part of the City of Richmond, and
T•THrR�111AS, plans for such improvement and relocation require an ease-
ment over, through and across a strip of land owned by the City of Richmond
and presently being used for park purposes as Starr Park, and
WHEREAS) the Board of Park Commissioners by resolution has authorized
the Mayor and Clerk of the City to grant an easement for highway purposes
through a certain strip of land in said Park and adjoining vacated cemetery;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINEID BY THE` COi2,401, COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RICHMOND, 'INDIANA:
Section 1. The Mayor together with the Clerk of the City, be and they
are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to execute and attest all
necessary instruments to effect a conveyance and grant of easement for
highway purposes to the State of Indiana over, through and across the follow-
ing described real estate, to -wit:
A parcel of land for State Highway right-of-way purposes through
,Starr Pars: and.adjoining vacated cemetery, being a part of Tracts 100 and
101 of the Official Map in the East Half of Sectio� 32, Township 14 North,
Range 1 West, Blayne County and more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the north line of North "F" Street
with the east line of North 9th Street, in the said City of Richmond, said
point being Seventy One (71.00) feet measured westwardly at right angles from
the centerline of U.S. Highway No.27, as relocated, at Stationi22 l y
thence north, along the east line of North 9th Street, Two Hundred
Twenty Three and Thirty Five Hundredths (223.35) feet, more or less; to the
south line of an alley, Twelve (12.00) feet in width, lying along the south
side of Lot No.21 of Elizabeth Starr's Addition to said City of Richmond, said
point being One Hundred Twenty Eight (128.00) feet measured westwardly, at
right angles from the center line of U.S. Highway No.27 as relocated, at
Station 2/+ + 60 ; .
. thence east, along the south line of said alley One Hundred Ninety
Seven (197.00) feet to the east line of a north and south alley, Twenty (20.00)
feet in width;
thence north, along the east line of said alley Forty One and Five
Tenths (41.5) feet to the northwest corner of Official Map Tract No.100;
thence east, along the north line of said Tract No.100, Twelve (12.00)
feet, to a point Sixty (60.00) feet measured eastwardly at right angle from
the center, line of U.S. Highway No.27, as relocated, at Station 25 + 63;
thence southwestwardly Two Hundred Sixty (260.00) feet, more or less,
to a point in the northwest line of Fort Wayne Avenue, said point being Seventy
(70.00) feet measured eastwardly at right angle, from the center line of U.S..
Highway No.27, as relocated, at Station 22 + 95;

thence southwestwardly, along the northwest line of Fort Mayne Avenue
Seventeen (17.00) feet, more or less to its intersection with the north line
of North "F".Street, said point being Sixty One (61.00) feet measured east—
wardly at right angle, from the centerline of U.S. Highway No.27, as relocated,
at Station 22 + 80;
thence west along the north line of North "F" Street One Hundred Thirty
Eight (138.00) feet to the place of beginning.
Containing an area of eighty eight hundredths (0.88) of an acre, more
or less.
`Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, or by law required.
