AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 2 OF AN ORDINANCE NUMBER
1351-1948,'AS AMENDED BY -ORDINANCE NUMBER 13,78-1949, AS
AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NUMBER-1416-.1950, RELATING TO TRAFFIC
.AND REGULATING THE -USE OF PUBLIC STREETS AND HIGHWAYS IN THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA; PRESCRIBING REGULATIONS RELATIVE
TO THE PARKING OF VEHICLES UPON SUCH PUBLIC STREETS AND
HIGHWAYS; PROVIDING FOR THE INSTALLATION, OPERATION, MAIN-
TENANCE, SUPERVISION, REGULATION AND CONTROL OF THE USE OF
PARKING METERS; DEFINING AND PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT THERE-
OF, AND FOR THE SUPPLY OF PARTS THTREOF, EXCLUSIVELY FROM
THE RECEIPTS OBTAINED FROM THE OPERATION OF PARKING METERS;
PROVIDING FOR THE ENFORCEMENT HEREOF AND PROVIDING PENALTIES
FOR THE VIOLATION -HEREOF.
SECTION 1. -BE IT ORDAINED BY -THE COMMON COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA:' That Section 2 of Ordinance -
Number 1351-1948, as amended by Ordinance Number 1378-1949,
as amended by Ordinance Number 1416-1950, be'amended to
read as follows:
SECTION 2. In order to.effect the purpose in this
Ordinance expressed there are hereby re-established and
fixed certain zones to be known as parking meter zones, in
the following streets, highways and avenues in the City of
Richmond, Indiana;
(a). Main Street, from the east side of Fourth
Street, to the east side of Eleventh Street; Fort
Wayne Avenue,' ,from north side of ,North "D" Street
to the west side of North Eighth Street; Seventh
Street, Eighth Street and Ninth Street from the
south side of North "A" Street, to the north side
of South !'A" Street.
(b). Fifth•Street.,•Sixth Street and Tenth Street,
from the south side of North "A" Street, to the
north side of South "A" Street; Ninth Street, from
the north side of North "A" Street, to the -south
side of North ' "B". Street.
(c)-. North "A" Street and South "A" Street from
the west side of Fifth Street to the east side of
Tehth Street; Eighth Street, from the north side
of South "A" Street to the north side -of South "C!' '
Street.
and from=time to time hereafter as- traffic conditions require,
in such other streets and avenues.as•are designatea.by-Ordin-,
ance of the Council for the location of such zones.
In any of�,the saidparking meter zones or any part: or. .
portions of said separately designated parking meter zones,
the Board of Public Works and Safety.may-cause parking meters
to be installed at each space in -such zone, or zones, in its
discretion', available for parking -of vehicle, or vehicles,
and shall 'see that there '-shali be 'p3airily: indicated on each -
of such meters the time limitations for parking-. Such time.
limitation shall be designated by a-)propriate notice
in proximity of such .meters. - .
THIS ORDINANCE. shall be in full .for. ce and -effect from and
of ter i t s pa s sage, and approval . by _the Mayor and publication
as is by law provided.
