MINUTES
HILLSBOROUGH TOWN BOARD
January 28, 2002
7:30 PM, Town Barn
The Hillsborough Town Board held a montWy workshop on January 28,2002 at 7:30 PM in the
Hillsborough Town Barn. Present for the Board Meeting were Mayor Joe Phelps, and
Commissioners Frances Dancy, Evelyn Lloyd, Kenneth Chavious, Mark Sheridan, and Michael
Gering. Staff present were Town Manager Eric Peterson, Planning Director Margaret Hauth,
Assistant Town Manager/Public Works Director Demetric Potts, Town Engineer Kenny Keel,
Management Intern Jim Klingler and Finance Director Sherry Carter.
1. OPEN THE WORKSHOP
Mayor Joe Phelps called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.
2. AGENDA CHANGES & AGENDA APPROVAL
Upon a motion by Commissioner Lloyd, seconded by Commissioner Gering, the Board moved to
approve the printed agenda as presented by a vote of 5-0. The motion was declared passed.
3. UPDATES FROM MAYOR & BOARD ON KEY COMMITTEES/ISSUES
. Various reports were given.
4. HOT TOPIC #1: Presentation and Discussion of the Updated Water Capacity Study
Management Intern Jim Klingler led a discussion of the Updated Water Capacity Study.
5. HOT TOPIC #2: Water Restrictions
A. Explanation of the "Capacity Use Agreement" for withdrawing of water from the Eno
River, Presented by Town Engineer Keel
B. Overview of the Current Town Water Restrictions by Stage, presented by Engineer
Kenny Keel
C. Discussion of Possible Changes to the Current Water Restrictions
Town Engineer Kenny Keel reported on the Capacity Use Agreement and reviewed the current
Town Water Restrictions by Stage and suggested proposed changes.
6. OTHER
There was no other business discussed.

adjourn by a vote of 5-0. The motion was declared passed.
