ARTICLE 8: VARIATIONS TO ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 674, GRANTED BY
ACTION OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD BOARD OF
TRUSTEES
Sec. 8-17 Variation of Maximum Sign Size Requirements
for Pride Petroleum
WHEREAS, a public hearing was duly advertised
and held an a proposed variation to the maximum sign size require-
ments of Chapter 8, Article 6, Section 6-19 of said Village of
Plainfield as hereinafter set forth, and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals for the
Village of Plainfield has heretofore filed the report of its acts
and doings in the premises and its recommendation that the petition
requesting the variation for the size of signs on the real estate
hereinafter described from the maximum area requirements under said
Chapter $, Article 6, Section 6-19, be granted, and
WHEREAS, we believe that the maximum sign size
requirements of said Chapter 8, Article 6, Section 6-19 place an
undue hardship upon the owner of said real estate, and
WHEREAS, no written objection to the grant~.ng of
said variation for said premises were filed and no one appeared in
person to object to the granting of said variation, and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the President and
Board of Trustees of the. Village of Plainfield that the petition
requesting a variation from the maximum sign size requirements of
said Chapter 8, Article 6, Section 6-19 far the real estate here-
inafter described should be granted.
NOW THEREFORE, SE IT ORDAINED BY TAE PRESIDENT
AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD, AS FOLLOWS:
Sec. 8-17-1: Territor Described. That the following tract of
of land to-wit:
Lots l azid 2 in Unit Na. 1 of Plainfield Acres,
a Subdivision of the South 2,301 feet of the West
Dne Half of the Southwest Quarter of Section 15,
• Township 36 North, Range 9 East of the Third
Principal Meridian, according to the Plat thereof
recorded July 21, 1951 as document no. 694112 in
Will County, Illinois.
Commonly known as: 451 South Division St.,
Plainfield, Illinois

which said tract of land is now subject to the
maximum sign size requirements as established in
Section 619 as aforesaid be and the same is hereby
exempt fram the requirement that no sign larger
than 20 square feet shall be erected, and the same
is hereby granted a variation to said maximum sign
area requirement and is hereby permitted to erect a
sign no larger than 36 square feet an the West side
of property near north driveway at 451 South Division
Street.
Sec. 8-17-2: If Part Invalid. The invalidity of any part ar
section hereof shall not affect the validity of the
remainder hereof.
Sec. 8-17-3: This Ordinance, numbered as /4 ~~ shall be
in full force and effect after its passage and
approval.
