ARTICLE 8: VARIATIONS TO ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 67~, GA.ANTED BY
ACTION OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Sec. 8-14 Variation of Maximum Sign Size Requirements
for Ace Hardware
WHEREAS, a public hearing was duly advertised
and held on a proposed variation to the maximum sign size
requirements of Chapter 8, Article 6, Section 6-19 of said
Village of Plainfield as hereinafter set forth, and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals for the
Village of Plainfield has heretofore filed the report of its
acts and doings in the premises and its recommendation that
the petition requesting the variation for the size of signs on
the real estate hereinafter described from the maximum area
requirements under said .Chapter 8, Article 6, Section 6-19,
be granted, and
WHEREAS, we believe that the maximum sign size
requirements of said Chapter 8, Article 6, Section 6-19 place
an undue hardship upon the owner of said real estate, and
.WHEREAS, no written objection to the granting
of said variation for said premises were filed and no one
appeared in person to object to the granting of said varia-
tion, and
WHEREAS, IT is the opinion of the President
and Board of Trustees of the Village of Plainfield that the
petition requesting a variation from the maximum sign size
requirements of said Chapter 8, Article 6, Section 6-19 for
the real estate hereinafter described should be granted.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT
AND BOARD OF TRU5TEES OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFTELD, AS FOLLOWS:
Sec. 8-14-1: Territory Described. That the following tract of
land to-wit:
The east 103 feet and the south 302 feet of the south half of
the southwest quarter of section 9, Township 36 North, Range
9 east of the Third Principal Meridian, located in the Village
of Plainfield, Will County, Illinois commonly known as Ace
Hardware, 1151 W. Lockport Street, Plainfield, Illinois.
which said tract of land is now subject to the maximum sign
size requirements as established in Section 6-19 as aforesaid
be and the same is hereby exempt from the requirement that no
sign larger than 2Q square feet shall be erected, and the same
is hereby granted a variation to said maximum sign area re-
quirement and is hereby permitted to erect a sign no larger
than 24 square feet on the front center of the property
at 1151 W. Lockport Street and the entrance to said property.
Sec. 8-14-2: Tf Part invalid. The invalidity of any part or
section hereo s a not affect the vala.dity of the remainder
hereof.
Sec. 8-14-3: This Ordinance, numbered as 1p75A , shall be
in full force and effect after its passage and approval.
