AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 9, ARTICLE 12
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFTELD, AS FOLLOWS:
That Chapter 9, Article 12 be amended by the addition
of the following:
Sec, 12-9: Limited Load Street
Sec. 12-9-1: Vehicles in Excess of 10,000 Pounds Prohibited
on Certain Streets. It shall he unlawful to operate any veha.cle
having a gross weight in excess of 1.0,000 pounds on any street so
designated as a "limited load street" by the Corporate Authorities,
except far the sole purpose of making a delivery or pick-up on
such street, and then only by use of a direct route to and from
such delivery or pick-up.
Sec. 12--9--2: Signs Required. Whenever the Corporate Auth-
orities ,:]esignate a street as a limited load street", the Corp-
c~rate Authorities shall cause to be placed and maa.ntained signs
giving notice thereof. ,
Sec. 12-9-3: Certain Vehicles Exempted. The following
described vehicles shall be exempt from the operation of this
Section:
(1) All vehicles owned by a governmental agency and
operated in the course of performance of the duties and
functions of the governmental agency;
(2) Vehicles engaged in the collection of refuse and
garbage;
{3) Vehicles owned and operated by private utilities;
(4) Buses; and
,.,,~ (5) Snow removal vehicles performing snow removal functions
on private property or under contract by the Village of
Plainfield.
Sec. 12-9-4: Designated Limited Load Streets. The streets
hereinafter named are hereby designated as "limited load streets".
Said limited load streets shall be as follows:

Bartlett Avenue from Main Street to Lockport Street
Center Street from Lockport Street to Evans Street '
Arnold Street from Main Street to Division Street
Illinois Street from Main Street to Lockport Street
Oak .Street from Des Plaines Street to_Division Street
Ottawa Street from James Street to Division Street
Ottawa Street from Division Street East to the Village limits
Commercial Street from_James Street to Division Street
Chicago Street from Division Street to Dillman Street
Dillman Street from Lockport Street to Joliet Road
Union Street from Division Street to Pratt Lane
Union Street from Division Street to Joliet Road
Union Street from Joliet Boad to Corbin Street.
Pratt Lane from Plaza Drive to Newkirk Drive
Newkirk Drive from Division Street to Pratt Lane
Fox River Street from Chicago Street to Commercial .Street
Des Plaines Street from Chicago Street to Cammer.cial Street
Illinois Street from Chicago Street to Commercial Street
Park Avenue from Lockport Street to Chicago Street
Miles Street from Lockport Street to Chicago Street
Ash Street from Main Street north to the Village limits
Poppy Lane_
Willow Drive
Meadow Lane
Pheasant Chase Drive
St. Joseph Avenue
Hazelcrest Drive
All ordinances and part of ordinances in conflict herewith
are, to the extent of such conflict, repealed.
If any section.. or any portion thereof of this Ordinance
shall for apy reason be held invalid, such decision shall not
affect the .validity of the remaining portion of such section,
or the remaining portions of this Ordinance.
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its
passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
This Ordinance shall be numbered as Ordinance No. /a D
