AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR
DECOTIIS, FITZPATRICK & COLE, LLP
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret, ( "Borough "), is in need of specialized legal services with
regard to the various legal services within the Borough; and
WHEREAS, DeCotiis, FitzPatrck, & Cole, LLP possess the requisite skill and expertise to
provide such specialized legal services; and
WHEREAS, the Law Director of the Borough of Carteret has recommended the appointment of
DeCotiis, FitzPatrick & Cole, LLP to represent the Borough of Carteret in various matters at a
cost not to exceed $75,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that finds are or will be available for said
purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret,
that DeCotiis, Fitzpatrick & Cole, LLP are hereby appointed as special counsel to represent the
Borough of Carteret in the above described matter at a cost not to exceed $75,000.00; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this appointment is made as a professional services
;ontract pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11- 5(1)(a) in accordance with the Borough's Fair and Open
?rocess as authorized by law.

THE CONTRACTOR does hereby agree to perform the following: PROFESSIONAL SERVICE CONTRACT
FOR SPECIALIZED LEGAL SERVICE WITHIN THE BOROUGH.
NOT TO EXCEED $75,000.00
According to the terms set forth in the Resolution.
THE BOROUGH does hereby agree to pay the Contractor the sum set forth in the Resolution.
