BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MONTHLY WORKSHOP
Monday, February 25,2002
7:30 PM, Hillsborough Town Barn
The Hillsborough Town Board held a Monthly Workshop on February 25, 2002 at 7:30
PM in the Hillsborough Town Barn. Present for the Workshop were Mayor Joe Phelps,
Commissioners Kenneth Chavious, Frances Dancy, Evelyn Lloyd, Mike Gering, and
Mark Sheridan. Staff present were Town Manager Eric Peterson, Planning Director
Margaret Hauth, Assistant Town Manager/Public Works Director Demetric Potts,
Finance Director Sherry Carter, and Management Intern Jim Klingler.
I. Open the Workshop
Mayor Joe Phelps opened the Workshop.
2. Agenda Changes & Agenda Approval
By consensus, the Board approved the Agenda as presented.
3. Updates from Mayor & Board on Key CommitteeslIssues

HOT TOPIC: discussion of the Proposed Waterstone Development at 1-40 and
Old NC86
The Board discussed the proposed Waterstone Development.
Management Intern Jim Klingler presented an Annexation Feasibility Study on the
proposed Waters tone Development for the Board's consideration.
Developers Jack Smyre and Scott Radway addressed the Board discussing the proposed
development and fielding questions.
5. Discussion Item: The Proposed Annexation of Old Mill Ridge
Town Manager Eric Peterson confrrmed that the proposed annexation of Old Mill Ridge
will be an Item for consideration on the March 11 th Agenda.

Upon a motion by Commissioner Dancy, seconded by Commissioner Chavious, the
Board moved to Adjourn at approximately 9: 15 PM by a vote of 5-0. The motion was
declared passed.
