HomeMy Public PortalAbout1415-1950 - Fixing ther tax rate for 1951ORDINANCE NUMBER 1415-1950 AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE RATE AND AMOUNT OF TAXES FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES TO BE LEVIED ON PROPERTY AND POLLS WITHIN THE CITY'OF RICHMOND, WAYNE COUNTY, INDIANA, FOR THE YEAR 1950 AND COLLECTED IN 1951, AND PROVID- ING FOR THE TAKING EFFECT THEREOF. SECTION-'.1. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, -WAYNE COUNTY, INDIANA, that the -amount of taxes to be levied, on property and polls within the City of Richmond, Wayne County, Ind- iana, for the year 1950, to collected in 1951, shall be $436,454,17, and that the rate of such tax and the purpose thereof shall be as follows: A. For the General Fund of said City, the levy shall be $0.66 on each One Hundred Dollars assessed valuation, and this shall be placed in the said General Fund with monies raised by poll tax which sum will be $345,384.96. B. For the General Sinking Fund of said City for the purpose of gt�ing interest and principal on bonded'indebtedness, etc., of said y, on each One Hundred Dollars assessed valuation, there shall be levied $6.145. C. For the Police Pension Fund of said City, on each One Hundred Dollars assessed valuation, there shall be levied $0.02. D. For the City Planning Commission Fund of said City, on each One Hundred Dollars assessed valuation, there shall be levied s0.01. E. And there shall also be assessed and collected on each taxable poll within the City of Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana, the sum of $0.25, making a total tax rate on roperty within the City of Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana, the sum of 30.835 on each One Hundred Dollars assessed valuation. SECTION 2. Said Taxes shall be collected and paid and allocated as provided by an ACT of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana, entitled, "AN ACT GOVERNING MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS", approved March 6, 1905, and subsequent parts thereto amendatory and/or supplemental thereto or therefor. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, properly signed by the President thereof, submission to and the approval of the Mayor, and with notice as is required by law. ` PASSED by the Common Council of the Ci of Richmond, Indiana this,,Qday of,1950.
