City of Richmond, -Indiana;

SECTION'1. -That an Ordinance entitled tr n
Ordinance to amend an'ordinance entitled !!Nn Ordinance to
amend an Ordinance entitled' "An. Ordinance, to provide for
the Security of Citizens and others from the running. of
trains t-hrough- the City of -;,Richmond-,,-- Ind iana; prescribing
penalties for its- violation and repealing all Ordinances
or parts thereof in conflict f+ (ordained December- 17, 1923),
to amend an Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance to provide for
the Security of Citizens' 'and .others from.. th,e running of
trains through the City of Richmond,. Indiana, prescribing
penalties for its violation and repealing all Ordinances_ or -
parts thereof in conflictit (Ordained, July 19; 1897)' be, and
the same is, hereby amended to read as follows; That for
the purpose of providing for the security of citizens and
others from the running of ,trains through the said" City of
Richmond, .all- railroad companies, .whose tracks or .track
cross, or intersect WP-'st Fi ft'h Street, _North Sixth Street,
North Eighth Street, Fort Jjayne Avenue, North Twelfth
Street, 'FJorth Thir,t.eenth Street,, North Fifteenth Street, -
and North !Sixteenth Street, 'in.said City of Richmond, -shall,
at each of- suPh. crossings .or int ers e ct i on-s,,, keep, acid
maintain, at their otivn 'expense and at all times. of .day and
night while any locomotive engine, car. o-r .train of cars .

sufficient gates at any of said. crossings or .intersections -
which' shall be so operated as to -protect and warn persons
crossing or about to cross. any of': said: crossings or - -inter-
sections- from the running - of. any such locomotive engine, . car.

- SECTION Any such- railroad company vrho shall by
itself, its 'ag-ents �or .employee's, violate or :fail . to,'o-bserve
any of the foregoing -provisions of this Ordinance, shall upon
conviction thereof, 'be fined in any sum n.ot exceeding One
Hundred Dollars ($100. 00.)-, 'and each. and every day .that such
offense is .continued,. shall ',be deemed and. -Yield. a separate
off ens.e
