AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE TRANSFER FROM THE GENERAL FUND OF THE
MUNICIIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT TO VARIOUS FUNDS OF SAID
CITY THE SUM OF $$300,000.00 II+T INSTALLMENTS UPON CALL BY THE CITY
CONTROLLER BETWEEN JA.NUARY 1, 1948, AND DECEMBER 31, 1948, INCLUSIVE
AND PROVIDING FOR THE TAKING EFFECT THEREOF.
Section 1. Be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, as follows, to wit: That the sum of $300,000.00
be and the same hereby is ordered transferred from the General Fund
of the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant to the City of
Richmond, Indiana for the purpose of helping defray its Governmental
expenses and that said sum be available on call by the Controller
of the City of Richmond with approval of the Mayor to the said
Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant on and after -the 1st
day of January, 1948 up -to and including the 31st day of December,
1948.
Section 2. The Clerk of said City shall give notice, as required
by law of the pendency of this ordinance and the purposes thereof
by posting written notices thereof in at least three public places
within the limits of the City of Richmond, Indiana, stating the time,
place and date when and where said Common Council will meet and con—
sider the same, and that the Clerk shall make proper proof of the
posting thereof and submit the same.to Council before final passage
of said Ordinance:
Section 3• Be it further ordained that the proper officers of said
City are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to make, effect
and complete said transfer of said funds as authorized and designated
in Section 1. hereof.
-Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, compliance by the City Clerk as ordered,
and the approval of the Mayor.
