Board of Commissioners Monthly Workshop
Monday, March 25, 2002 -7:30 p.m.
Town Barn
The Hillsborough Town Board held a Monthly Workshop on March 25, 2002 at 7:30 PM in the
Hillsborough Town Barn. Present for the Workshop were Mayor Joe Phelps, Commissioners
Frances Dancy, Evelyn Lloyd, Mike Gering, and Mark Sheridan. Absent from the Workshop
was Commissioner Chavious. Staff present were Town Manager Eric Peterson, Assistant Town
ManagerlPublic Works Director Demetric Potts, Town Engineer Kenny Keel, and Planning
Director Margaret Hauth.
1. Open the Workshop
Mayor Joe Phelps called the meeting to order at 7:35 PM.
2. Agenda Changes & Agenda Approval
By consensus, the Board approved the Agenda as presented.
3. Roundtable Discussion with Congressman David Price
. The Board welcomed Congressman David Price.
Congressman Price discussed Local, State, and Federal Issues with the Board.
4. Updates from Mayor & Board on Key Committees/Issues
5. Discuss Options and Consider Approval of Repair and/or Replacement of Handrails at the
Wastewater Treatment Plant
Upon a motion by Commissioner Lloyd, seconded by Commissioner Dancy, the Board moved to
approve the Repair and/or Replacement of the Handrails at the Wastewater Treatment Plant by a
vote of 4-0. The motion was declared passed.
6. Consider Approval of 3-Year Lease-Purchase Contract for a Phone System at the Fairview
Community Policing Station
By consensus, the Board approved the 3-Year Lease-Purchase Contract for a Phone System at
the Fairview Community Policing Station as presented.

Upon a motion by Commissioner Sheridan, seconded by Commissioner Dancy, the Board moved
to adjourn at approximately 9:00 PM by a vote of 4-0. The motion was declared passed.
