AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2, SECTION 7 AND SECTION 8 OF
ORDINANCE 2000 -15 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE SIZE OF
DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF GREENCASTLE,
INDIANA, FIXING THE SALARIES OF SUCH DEPARTMENTS AND FIXING THE
SALARIES OF CERTAIN OTHER APPOINTED OFFICIALS FOR THE YEAR 2001.
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Greencastle, Indiana passed Ordinance 2000 -15
establishing the size of Departments of the City Government of the City of Greencastle, Indiana,
fixing annual salaries for the employees of such Departments and fixing the salaries of certain
other appointed officials for the year 2001.
BE IT ORDAINED AND ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle,
Indiana, that Section 2, Section 7 and Section 8 of Ordinance 2000 -15 shall be amended to
include the addition of the following positions:
Section 2:
Part-time Clerical $8,000.00
(1 @ $7.35 per hour x 40 hours bi- weekly x 26 pays = $7,700.00)
Section 7:
® Part-time $6,400.00
(1 @ $8.00 per hour x 800 hours total)
Section 8:
Part-time $5,000.00
(1 @ $8.00 per hour x 625 hours total)
Part-time $6,690.00
(1 @ $7.35 per hour x 910 hours total)
All other sections and provisions of said Ordinance shall remain in full force and effect,
unchanged.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle, Indiana this 13th
day of February 2001.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY OF GREENCASTLE'S
EMPLOYEE MANUAL
WHEREAS, the Common Council for the City of Greencastle believes that Section 2:4 H of
the Employee Manual is too restrictive for a community the size of Greencastle.
NOW THEREFORE be it ordained that Section 2:4 H of the City of Greencastle Employee
Manual is hereby revised and shall read as follows:
Personal and Family Relationships
A current employee's immediate family members are eligible for full -time
employment with the City. Immediate family for purposes of this policy includes:
Spouse Child Step -child
Brother Sister Mother
Father Mother -in -Law Father -in -Law
Son -in -Law Daughter -in -Law
Full -time employees hired after January 1, 1996, will not be allowed to work together
on the same shift, in the same section, or under the direct supervision of an
immediate family member.
When a situation that runs contrary to the above policy arises through promotion,
transfer, or marriage, the effected individuals have one month in which to settle the
issue voluntarily — that is by having one of them request a transfer or offer a
resignation. If the affected parties are unable to resolve the situation within one
month, their immediate supervisor will review the case. and make a decision
concerning which employee will be transferred or terminated. The Board of Works
reserves the right to review each particular situation and waive this requirement
based upon the circumstances of the situation upon good cause shown. Such decision
by the supervisor and/or the Board of Works will be binding and is non - reviewable.
NOW THEREFORE be it further ordained by the Common Council of the City of

® Greencastle that all other terms and conditions of the Employee Manual remain in full force and
effect.
This Ordinance shall have full force and effect upon passage of the Greencastle Common
Council and its approval by the Mayor.
