HomeMy Public PortalAbout1292-1945 - Regulating the dispany of merchandise ect.ORDINANCE NO 1945. uj_ AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE DISPLAY OF MERCHANDISE ETC., PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF AND PROVIDING FOR THE TAKING EFFECT THEREOF. Section 1. Be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana that no firm, company, corporation, individual or individuals shall after the passage of this ordinance for the purpos®b of display, exhibition or sale,place or permit or allow the placing of any merchandise or commodity beyond the real estate boundry of the premises so occupied by hi her,it or them, facing a publio highway or sidewalk. Section 2. Be it further ordained that no person, persons, firm, company or corporation shall place aby signs along and upon the sidewalks or in the area, between the sidewalks and curbs of the City of Richmond, Indiana. Section 3. this ordinance shall not apply to the regular City Market Place located. at South Sixth and A Street on the Southwest corner thereof. Section 4. Any person, persons, firm, company or corporation thuttv7kni r violating this ordinance shall be fined for each such violation"and for each failure or refusal to comply .fully with any of the terms, conditions or requirements or provisions herein set forth, not less than one dollar nor more than one hundred dollars to which may be added thirty days imprisonment in the Wayne County Jail. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon and after its passage by Common Council, signature of the President thereof properly affixed, submission to and approval of the Mayor,&publication as by law required.
