AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING
THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION
OF A GRANT FROM THE AREA 9 AGENCY
WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-1-4-10, a municipality may execute any
documents necessary to receive money from the state or federal government or any other
source, and said documents are prepared and executed by the City executive
administration, provided that the Common Council of the City of Richmond as the
legislative body of the City approves an ordinance for the appropriation of any monies
received in accordance with IC 36-4-6-18; and
WHEREAS, The Area 9 Agency has grant funding available; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond desires to submit a grant application to obtain funding for Roseview
Transit transportation services from fiscal year 2012 to 2013; and
WHEREAS, A minimum local match of Fifteen Percent (15%) or Seven Thousand Four Hundred Fifty
Dollars and Forty -One Cents ($7,450.41) is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as
follows:
1. The City of Richmond has submitted or will submit, as authorized by IC 36-1-4-10, a grant
application to the Area 9 Agency to help fund the Roseview Transit transportation services from fiscal year
2012 to 2013.
2. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Forty Two
Thousand Two Hundred Nineteen Dollars and Zero Cents ($42,219.00).
3. Matching funds from Roseview Transit Rider donations and the City of Richmond, Indiana, in
the amount of Seven Thousand Four Hundred Fifty Dollars and Forty -One Cents ($7,450.41) shall be
appropriated to support this grant application.
4. All grant funding, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated to help fund the
Roseview Transit transportation services from fiscal year 2012 to 2013.
