A GENERAL ORDINANCE AMENDING
SUBSECTION 74.47(I) OF RICHMOND CITY CODE
WHEREAS, Chapter 74 of Richmond Code regulates parking within the City of
Richmond; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to make changes to encourage businesses to locate in the center
city; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to change the rates for parking passes for new businesses
locating in the center city.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, that the following subsection of Chapter 74.47(1) of Richmond Code shall be
amended to read as follows:
(i) New businesses (defined as any business moving into or starting as a new business
in the Uptown area on or after June 4, 2012, which area shall be bounded by the
Whitewater River to the west, 14th Street to the east, North A Street to the north and
South A Street to the south) that agree to purchase monthly parking passes for all their
employees shall receive free parking passes for the first and second years. Parking
passes will be full price for the third and following years. (Ord. 58-2002; Ord. -2012)
Passed and adopted this _4th day of _June 2012, by the Common Council of the
City of Richmond, Indiana.
