In reference to your letter of April 6, 1967, and to your conversation with
Mr. Gad of our office, I am anclogies a Area iminary plan showing the proposed exten-
sion of oue electrolier system s outherly of 25th Avenue abutting the properties of the
Sae Mateo County lair Grounds. 2bn following proposal in conjunction to this work is:
1. County inetalls the proposed electroliera, conduit, cable, etc., south-•
vcaterly of electrolicr BO. 12920 es shown on our submitted plan.
2. City vill disconi ect the present system northwesterly of electxolier
1 o. 12925 and rea1ace the existing 6,000 lumen incandescent l"m w iresa
with 201000 ltaaen ; orcury vapor luminaires on all existing electroliere
southwesterly of eleotrolior No. 12925 az shown on plan.
3. The City will extend the existis ,, conduit to the new pole riser, as shown,
end Mak all arraeeemente with iacific Gat C Electric Coppaay for service.
4. The City arrays pays for the lighting energy on city streets as is the case
in this instance. The current energy coct will not, therefore, be your
reeponeibility as indicated in your letter.
With these revisions and, proposed insrtallaticn we will upgrade and canfoeMi here
closely to I.Q.B. Standards than heretofore. At all tip this office is erring
to accomplish a better lightinc condition along our city streets. With the in mind,
it is our hope that some vow i be found by the Cbunty department involved in this
requeet to see their wey Olen: to budget the necessary sr tee ter the installation of

you will give me a little sketch or plan showing what the City
might require and approximate current cost thereof, I shall
present the matter and see what their feelings may be. Whether
or not the County would help defray any of the expenses of this
work is something I shall have to check on with our County Mana-
ger, Mr. Stallings. Normally the County expects the Fair to pay
its own way on capital improvements. However, there is always a
possibility that an improvement.Qf this kind might meet with the
County's approval for assisting in funding. At any rate, we shall
not have any funds available until after July 1, 1967, and there-
fore no work can be done unt.i.l then. I shall keep you advised as
to the situation as soon as can determine what the action will
be.

Dear Mr. Thompson:
This is in response to your letter of March 16th relative to the
project of constructing a concrete sides on the east side of
Delaware Avenue alongside the Fairgrounds boundary fence.
As you will recall, the County undertook the financial res-
ponsibility when improvements were made on Delaware Avenue
some time ago. Therefore, the sidewalk construction, which
is a continuation of that improvement project, is also a res-
ponsibility of the County.
I am sending a copy of your letter to Mr. Henry Tarratt, Director
of Building Construction and General Services of the County, for
his consideration.
No doubt you will soon be receiving a reply directly from Mr.
Tarratt relative to your request.

A`tention: Mr. Wilson Re: Concrete Sidewalk Construction
East Side South Delaware Street
Gentlemen:
The City Council has received an impassioned plea from a resident of Fiesta
Gardens for the construction of a concrete sidewalk on the East side of South Delaware
Street abutting the San Mateo County Fairgrounds property.
The request may indicate that pedestrian traffic southerly to and from 25th Avenue,
especially children, has increased considerably since the South Delaware Street
improvements were constructed.
.'e would very much appreciate your response giving us the position of the
San Mateo County Fairgrounds Association on constructing a standard concrete
sidewalk on the east side of South Delaware Street fronting your property.
