AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $507.55 OUT OF THE GENERAL FUND
OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND,INDIANA FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING A JUDGMENT
AGAINST THE CITY OF-RICHMOND, INDIANA GROWING OUT OF AN ACCIDENTAL IN-
JURY TO ELIZABETH PIKE ON NORTH E STREEE BETWEEN 13th STREET AND 14th
STREET, AND DECLARING AN EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCY FOR THE PASSAGE OF
THE SAME.
WHEREAS on the 6th day of December, 1941 in the Wayne Circuit
Court of Mayne County, Indiana -in cause No. 31502 entitled Elizabeth
Pike VS City of Richmond there etas entered a judgment against said,
City in the sum of $500.00 and for Court Costs An the sum of $7.55 and
WHEREAS SAID JUDGMENT IS IN FULL SATISFACTION AND RELEASE BY the
saiO Elizabeth Pike for injuries suffered by h-er in a .fall. on the w1de
walk on North E. Street between 13th and 14th. Streets can the south side
thereof on the.27th day of October, 1940 wherein she.broke her right
wrist and injured her right shoulder and suffered other loss,
NOW THEREFORE
Section 1. Be it ordained hwv the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Wayne County, Indiana that there be and there hereby is approprilted
from the General Fund of said C,it� of Richmond, Indiana the sum of 0500.00
to pay the aforesaid judgment of .$500.00 held by the said Elizabeth P$ke
against said City and $7.55 to be paid to the Clerk of the Wayne Circuit
Court as costs attached to said judgment, totaling in all $507.55 and
that there is m actual need and necessity for said appropriation and
that an emergency is hereby declared for said appropriation.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and. effect after it's
passage by Council, the signature of the President thereof aff&xed, sub-
mission to End approval of the Mayor, publication as by lawn requircid and
approved by the State Board. of Tax Commissioners.
