ORDINANCE 21-2007
A SPECIAL ORDINANCE CREATING A CONSERVATION DISTRICT
WHEREAS, Section 158.01 et. seq. of the City Code provides for the creation of a
Conservation District by ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the majority of the owners of the real property on the north and south
thrd
side of East Main Street from 18 Street to 23 Street including a
th
vacant lot on North 18 Street, all the structures on Washington
st
Court, and one structure at 24 South 21 Street wish to establish a
Conservation District. A written petition to establish said District as a
Conservation District referred to as the Linden Hill Conservation
District is attached hereto, made a part hereof, and marked as
“Exhibit A”; and
WHEREAS, a map showing the boundaries of said District is attached hereto,
made a part hereof, and marked as “Exhibit B”; and
WHEREAS, the map attached as “Exhibit B” has been approved by the Historic
Preservation Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Commission has prepared a report on the
above District and recommends the establishment of a Conservation
District. A copy of said report is attached hereto, made a part hereof,
and marked as “Exhibit C.”
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, as follows:
1. The map attached as “Exhibit B,” showing the boundaries of the
Conservation District, is hereby approved.
2. The above described real property district is hereby established as a
Conservation District, as defined by 158.01 et. seq. of the City Code, and that no
additional regulations or restrictions shall apply to said Conservation District.
Passed and adopted this _19th_ day of _March______ 2007, by the Common Council of the City
of Richmond, Indiana.
