HomeMy Public PortalAbout1175-1938 - Fixing the tax rate for 1939ORDINANCE NO. c% 1938.- AN ORDINANCE FINING THE RATE AND THE AMOUNT OF TAXES FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES, TO BE LEVIED ON PROPERTY AND POLLS WITHIN THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FOR THE YEAR 1938, AND COLLECTED IN THE YEAR 1939. Section 1. BE IT ORDAINED FY THE COI&JON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, that the amount of taxes to be levied on property and polls within said City for 1938 and collectable in the year 1939, shall be Eighty Four Thousand, Three Hundred Eighty Two Dollars and Sixty Five cants (,:84,382.65), and the rate of such tax and the purpose thereof, shall be as follows: (a) For the General Fund of said City, Six Cents (6y) on the One Hundred Dollars assessed valuation. (b) For the Sinking Fund of said City for the payment of principal and interest on bonded indebtedness, etc., of said City, Fifteen and one half cents (15.5�) on each One Hundred Dollars assessed valuation. (c) For the Firemen's Pension Fund of said City, Two Cents W) on the each One Hundred Dollars assessed valuation. (d) For the Policemen's Pension Fund of said City, Two Cents W) on the each One Hundred Dollars assessed valuation. (6) For the City Planning Commission of said City Five Mills (.005�) on each One Hundred dollars assessed valuation. (f) For the Recreation Fund of said City for the maintenance and equipment of public playgrounds, under the supervision of said City or Board of Trustees of the School City of Richmond, Indiana, Five Mills (.005�), on the each One Hundred Dollars assessed valuation. (g) And there also be assessed and collected on each Poll taxable within the said City of Richmond, the sum of Fifty Cents ( 50�) . Yaking a total rate on property witb4and for said City of Richmond, Indiana, the sum of Twenty Six and one-half cents (26.5�) on the each One Hundred Dollars assessed valuation. Section. 2 Said taxes shall be collected and paid as provided by an Act of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana, entitled, "An Act Concerning Municipal Corporations", approved March 6, 1905, and all parts amendatory or supplemental thereto. Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and the approval of the Mayor. Attest: Uity Clerk.- Mayor. -
