HomeMy Public PortalAbout05-20-2021 THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, MAY 20,2021 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday,May 20,2021, in the Hutton Community Room at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street,Richmond, Indiana. CALL TO ORDER Board Member Palmer called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Emily Palmer and Matt Evans. Absent was Vicki Robinson. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels,Assistant City Attorney; Monica Burns, Deputy City Clerk; Lieutenant Donnie Benedict; John Lackey, Code Enforcement; Beth Fields, Director of Infrastructure and Development; and, Media via Zoom. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Evans moved to approve the minutes of May 13,2021, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve the Claims for Payment for May 21, 2021 in the amount of Ninety Three Thousand Four Hundred Eighteen Dollars and eighty one cents ($93,418.81), supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve the Payroll Claims for Payment for May 21, 2021 in the amount of Eight Hundred Forty Four Thousand One Hundred Ninety Eight Dollars and ninety six cents ($844,198.96), supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT FOR PENSION-None REQUESTS • NEW HANDICAP SIGN 419 NW"E" Street Board of Works Minutes May 20,2021 Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. • HANDICAP SIGN RENEWALS 121 SW"E" Street 310 North 19th Street 408 Pearl Street 1707 SW"A" Street Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. • STREET CLOSURES Richmond Music Boosters RHS Summer Band Kick Off March-a-thon On May 23, 2021 9:30 a.m. the Richmond Music Boosters are requesting a police escort as they march starting on Hub Etchison in front of Civic Hall heading South onto SW "G" Street up through the Earlham campus and back down SW"D" Street to the back of the Richmond Art Museum parking lot. There is not a lot of traffic in this area and the band will be supervised by the band directors, music boosters and parents. So no road closures are being requested just requesting permission for the students to march the neighborhood while playing the instruments on the street. Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce the motion carried. The Hideaway Annual Customer Appreciation Day On August 14, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. they are requesting to close down Elm Place from the alley to the overpass for their annual customer appreciation event. Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms., Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. BID OPENINGS -None BID AWARDS -None CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 62-2021 —S&M HOME SOLUTIONS,LLC Board of Works Minutes May 20,2021 They will provide services in connection with the removal of trash, debris, and brush at three nuisance properties for the City. Not to exceed $1,600.00 Those properties are as follows: 418 South 13th Street 1104 NW 6th Street 1028 Butler Street Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. CHANGE ORDERS • CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 TO CONTRACT NO. 12-2021 —MW DESIGN This change order is for material and labor changes due to the required remediation of Council Chambers. Not to Exceed$16,435.00 Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried.
