The undersigned, HELEN B. LETDIG, being first duly sworn
upon oath deposes and states that she is the duly elected and
acting Village Clerk of the Village of Plainfield, Wi11 County,
Illinois.
Your affiant further states that she served notices required
by Chapter 24, Section 7-1-1, Illinois Revised Statutes 1973, as
amended, by certified mail on the Plainfield Free Public Library
and its Board of Directors and on the Plainfield Fire Protection
District and its Board of Trustees concerning the proceedings
culminating in the passage of the ordinance attached hereto.

AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING THE SOUTH PORTION
OF THE PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP-CEMETERY
WHEREAS, at,the May meeting of the Plainfield
Cemetery Board., the Trustees of said Cemetery
(owner of the Property) adopted a Resolution
indicating a desire on the part of said Ceme-
tery Board to have the territory hereinafter
described annexed to the Village of Plainfield;
and
WHEREAS, the said territory is contiguous to the
corporate limits of the Village of Plainfield;
and,
WHEREAS, no electors reside thereon; and,
WHEREAS, this property was the subject o£ Ordi-
nance No. 647 (Chapter 7, Article 8, Sec. 8-9),
but that said Ordinance was not recorded; and
WHEREAS, it is for the best interest of said
Village that. said territory be annexed to the
Village of Plainfield.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT
AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAIN~-
FIELD, ILLINOIS:
Sec, 8-35-1: That the following described tract
of land herein called territory, to-wit:
The North Ten (10) acres of the West Half (W~)
of the Southwest Quarter (SW's) of Section Fif-
teen (15) in Township Thirty-six (36) North,
Range Nine (9) East of the Third Principal Mer-.
idian, in Will County, Illinois, the same being
commonly known as the new part of the Plainfield
Township Cemetery, together all adjacent high-
ways and streets rights--of-way adjacent thereto
excepting therefrom any property already within
the Village boundaries be, and the same is here-
by annexed to and declared a part of the Village
of Plainfield, a Municipal Corporation.
Sec. 8-35--2: That the Village limits of the Vil-
lage of Plainfield be, and the same are hereby
extended to include the above described territory.

Sec. $-35-3: That Ordinance No. 1 of the Vil-
lage of Plainfield be amended as follows:
That the limits of the Vi1l.age of Plainfield
shall be extended to include the tract of land
described in Section 8-~35-1 hereof.
Sec. 8--35-4: That all ordinances or parts of
ordinances in conflict herewith be, and the
same are hereby repealed.
Sec. 8-35-5: This Ordinance shall be numbered
as Ord. No. ~// shall take effect upon its
passage, approval and recording in accordance
with the provisions of the Statutes of the
State of Illinois in such case made and provided
and that the Village Clerk shall certify a copy
of this Ordinance together with an accurate
map of .the annexed territory and record same in
the Office of the Recorder of Deeds of said
Wi11 County.

I, HELEN B. LEIDIG, the duly elected, qualified, and acta.ng
Village Clerk of said Village of Plainfield, Will County, Illinois,
do hereby certify that the above and foregoing is a true and correct
copy of Chapter 7, Article 8, Section 8-35-1 through $-35--5, Ordinance
No. ~/l , entitled, "'AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING THE SOUTH PORTION OF THE
PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP CEMETERY", which was duly passed by the President
and Board of Trustees of said Village and approved by the President of
the Board of Trustees of said Village on the 4th day of August, 1975,
and the original of sa~.d Ordinance is now on file in my office, and
that the map attached is a true and accurate map of the territory
annexed.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand as Village
Clerk and attached the seal of said Village the 4th day of August, 1975.
