RESOLUTION 4-2021
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ASSUMPTION OF A CONTRACT BETWEEN
THE NATIONAL NAVAL AVIATION MUSEUM AND THE RICHMOND, INDIANA
AIRPORT BOARD
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond has heretofore executed a Loan Contract with the United
States of America, by and through its Department of the Navy, National Naval
Aviation Museum wherein the City is provided the ability to display an A-6E
Intruder,bearing Serial# 152603 ("aircraft"); and
WHEREAS, The City executed the above-referenced Loan Contract by and through its Airport
Board for the purposes of displaying the aircraft at the Richmond Municipal
Airport, located at 5169 227 South, Richmond, IN 47374; and
'WHEREAS, The Airport Board desires to permit the aircraft to be displayed at the Veterans
Memorial Park located in Richmond, Indiana, which is managed and operated by
the Park Board of Richmond, Indiana; and
WHEREAS, The Park Board has reviewed the prospect of displaying the aircraft at the
Veterans Memorial Park for the remainder of the Loan Contract, and desires to
assume the obligations and conditions of the Loan Contract, as well as the
attachments thereto, so as to permit the aircraft to be in display for all residents at
the Veterans Memorial Park; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond has secured prior approval from the Lender, by and
through the Aircraft Loan Manager of the National Naval Aviation Museum, to
execute this Resolution and to effectuate the terms and conditions of the same.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PARK BOARD OF THE CITY OF
RICHMOND, INDIANA, that it hereby assumes the Loan Contract referenced herein, and agree
to abide by all terms and conditions of the same on behalf of the City of Richmond, Indiana, a
political subdivision while acknowledging that the City of Richmond, Indiana remains the
responsible party to the Loan Contract as set forth within the Loan Contract; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Park Board will coordinate the transfer of the
aircraft, in conjunction with the Airport Board, from the Richmond Municipal Airport to the
Veterans Memorial Park, and will do so in a safe manner that ensures the safety of people, as
well as the aircraft; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Loan Contract between the United States
Government and the City of Richmond, Indiana is made a part hereof, and is incorporated by
reference herein, and the Parks Board agrees to ensure that, on behalf of the City of Richmond,
the terms and conditions, as well as the attachments thereto, as may have been, or will be
amended, by the Lender, shall be complied with.
