AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 674 OF THE
VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, a public hearing was duly advertised and held on the
amendment to said Ordinance No. 674 of said Village of ,.Plainfield as
hereinafter set forth, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Appeals of the Village of Plainfield has
heretofore filed a report of its acts and doings in the premises and
its recommendation that the petition as amended for the rezoning of
all of the real estate hereinafter described from its present zoning
classification to Residence A-3 Distruct under said Ordinance No.
674 entitled, "An Ordinance Requiring Permits For Buildings, Structures
and Uses, Dividing the Village Into District, Specifying Minimum Lot
Sizes, Set Backs And Side Yards, Regulating The Sulk Of Buildings,
Providing For Appeals And Imposing Penalties", be granted, and
WHEREAS, the North 8,503 square feet of said real estate is now
zoned Residence A-2 and the remainder thereof is now zoned Residence
A, and
WHEREAS, there is an apartment building directly across the
stree from the property in question and a nine apartment building is
located one block North thereof, and
WHEREAS, the. Village parking lot abutts said real estate on the
South, and
WHEREAS, said zeal estate is within one block of the main develope
business district in the Village of Plainfield, and
WHEREAS, said real estate is particularly .suited for apartments
to accommodate elderly citizens, and
WHEREAS, we believe. that the highest and best use of the real
estate hereinafter described is for uses permitted in Residence A-3
District under said Ordinance 674, and
WHEREAS, no written objections to the rezoning of said premises
were filed and no one appeared in person to object to the rezoning
of said real estate, and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Plainfield that the Petition as amended for the re-
zoning of the real estate hereinafter described should be granted and
that said real estate should be rezoned and reclassified from its

present zoning classification as hereinabove stated, to Residence A-3
District under said Zoning Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFTELD, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION l: That the following tract of land, to-wit;
Sub Lot One (1) of Alfred J. McCreery's Subdivision of
part of Block Six (6) in Arnold"s Addition to Plainfield,
a Subdivision of part of the Southeast Quarter (SEA) of
Section Nine (9), in Township Thirty-six (36) North, and
in Range Nine (9) East of the Third Principal Meridian,
according to the plat thereof recorded in Plat Book 6,
Page 45, as Document No. 152927 of Will County Records,
excepting therefrom that part thereof deeded to Edward C.
and Ida C. Hoffman, on September 29, 1914 and recorded
in Book 499, Page 119, as Document No. 287814, also ex-
cepting therefrom that part thereof deeded to Bertha
Brinkerhoff on September 6, 1921, and recorded in Book
552, Page. 374 as Document No. 338952; and also excepting
therefrom that part thereof described as follows: Be-
ginning at a point on the Northerly line of the said
Sub Lot One (1) that is 102.50 feet Northeasterly of
the Northwesterly corner thereof; thence Southeasterly
along a line forming a right angle with the said Northerly
line of Sub Lot One (1), 24.82 feet to a point on the
Westerly line of the property deeded to Bertha Brinkerhoff
on September 6, 1921, and recorded in Book 552, Page 374,
as Document No. 338952, that is 25.96 feet Southwesterly
of the Northwesterly corner thereof;.. thence Northwesterly
along the said Westerly line of the property recorded as
Document No. 338952, 25.96 feet to the said Northerly line
of Sub Lot One (1); thence Southwesterly. along the said
Northerly line of said Sub Lot One (l), 7.62 feet to the
point of beginning;
And Also
that part of Sub Lot One (1) of said Alfred J. McCreery's
Subdivision described as follows: Beginning at a point
on the Westerly line of the property deeded to Bertha
Brinkerhoff on September 6, 1921, and recorded in Book
552, Page. 374, as Document No. 338952, that is 25.96.
feet South of the Northwesterly corner thereof; thence
Southeasterly along the said Westerly line of the said
property recorded as Document No. 338952, 38,14 feet to
the Southwesterly corner thereof; thence Northeasterly
along the said Southerly line of the said property re-
corded as Document No. 338952, and the Southerly line
of the property deeded to Edward C. and Tda C. Hoffman,
on September 29, 1914, and recorded in Book 499.,. Page
119,: as Document No. 2$7814, 13..36 feet, thence North-
westerly, 43.18 feet to the point of beginning;
And Also
The North Eighteen (18) feet of the West Eight ($) rods
of Lot Two (2), in Assessor's Subdivision of Block Six
(6) of said Arnold's Addition to Plainfield as shown by
Plat recorded on August 24, 1867 in Book 102 as an
inset between pages 222 and 223 as Document No. 57286,
which said tract, except the North 8,503 square feet, is now a part of
Residence A District and the North 8,503 square feet thereof is now a

part of Residence A-2 District as defined in Section 3 of said Ordinance
No. 674 of the Village of Plainfield of which this Ordinance is amendatory,
be and the same is hereby detached from said Residence A District and
Residence A-2 District in which the same is now classified as herein
stated and is hereby reclassified and rezoned as Residence A--3 District
under said Ordinance No. 674, an,d is hereby added to and made a part of
Residence A-3 District under said Ordinance No. 674.
SECTION 2: The invalidity of any part or section hereof shall not
effect the validity of the remainder hereof.
SECTION 3: This Ordinance sha11 be in full force and effect after
its passage and approval.
SECTION 4; This Ordinance shall be known as Ordinance No. G ~ .
