HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-01-2021 THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND,INDIANA, JULY 1,2021 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, July 1, 2021, in the Hutton Community Room at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. CALL TO ORDER President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson and Matt Evans. Absent was Emily Palmer. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels,Assistant City Attorney; Monica Burns,Deputy City Clerk; Kara Noe, Purchasing; Sherry Hemmingway, Payroll and Benefits Administrator; Greg Stiens, Director of Public Works &Engineering; and Media via Zoom. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Evans moved to approve the minutes of June 17, 2021, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve the Claims for Payment for June 25, 2021 in the amount of One Hundred Eighty Eight Thousand Five Hundred Fifty Three Dollars and thirty seven cents ($188,553.37), supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. Mr. Evans moved to approve the Claims for Payment for July 2, 2021 in the amount of One Hundred Thirty Three Thousand Three Hundred Twenty Three Dollars and thirty one cents ($133,323.31), supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve the Payroll Claims of Payment for July 2, 2021 in the amount of Eight Hundred Eighteen Thousand Thirty Six Dollars and fifty seven cents ($818,036.57), supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Mr. Evans moved to approve a Special Payroll Claims for Payment for July 2,2021 in the amount of Two Hundred Fifty Dollars and no cents (($250.00), supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Board of Works Minutes July 1,2021 Mr. Evans moved to approve a Special Payroll Claims for Payment for July 2, 2021 for a correction that was voided and reissued in the amount of One Thousand Five Hundred Eleven Dollars and seventy three cents ($1,511.73), supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT FOR PENSION Mr. Evans moved to approve a Payroll Claims for Payment for Pension for June 21, 2021 in the amount of Two Hundred Sixty Nine Thousand Dollars Two Hundred Twenty Three Dollars and twenty five cents ($269,223.25), supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. REQUESTS -None BID OPENINGS • AIR DUCT CLEANING AT THE CITY BUILDING There were no bids. • TREE INVENTORY: RISK MANAGEMENT Those bids are as follows: Davey Resource Group $100.00 per hour for subscription software training Subscription for three years - $6,250.00 Risk Assessment of 1000 trees - $9,610.00 Planit GEO Risk Assessment of 1000 trees - $8,000.00 Subscription for three years including training - $8,000.00 BID AWARDS -None CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 80-2021 —B&B CONSTRUCTION OF RICHMOND They are to perform services in connection with the demolition of certain structures previously deemed by the Richmond Unsafe Building Commission to be unsafe properties. Those properties are as follows: 536 South 6th Street(House) $6,500.00 619 South 9th Street(House) $6,500.00 902 North 8th Street(House) $6,300.00 Board of Works Minutes July 1,2021 403 North 17th Street(House) $6,500.00 TOTAL: $25,800.00 Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 81-2021 —HENRY COMMUNITY HEALTH They will provide testing services in connection with the City's 2021 Health Fair to be held July 14, 2021, July 15, 2021, and July 16, 2021, including, but not limited to the blood- draw testing services and biometrics necessary for the wellness screening operations conducted at the Fair. Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 89-2021 —MILESTONE CONTRACTORS,L.P. They are to perform services in connection with street rehabilitation for six(6)roads which are designated as a part of the Community Crossings Streets Project for the City of Richmond, Indiana for 2021. Not to exceed $390,353.00 Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 93-2021 —TOWN OF SPRING GROVE,INC This is for reimbursement of Fire Protection for calendar year 2021. The amount of $71,195.00 is to be paid in two equal installments. Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CHANGE ORDERS -None ADDENDUMS • ADDENDUM NO. 1 TO CONTRACT NO. 20-2021 —TOWING ROTATION This addendum is to remove Elliott Towing, Inc. from the City Towing Rotation. They made the request to be removed on June 8, 2021 because of a staffing shortage. Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Board of Works Minutes July 1,2021 RESOLUTIONS -None PETITIONS • CURB CUTS 2255 Charleston Place Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. MISCELLANEOUS ADJOURNMENT After a motion was duly made, the meeting was adjourned.
