AN ORDINANCE ADDING SECTION
225 TO THE MEDINA CODE OF
ORDINANCES ESTABLISHING THE
POSITION OF CITY
ADMINISTRATOR
TFE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MEDINA, MINNESOTA ORDAINS
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 225 is added to the
Code of Ordinances as follows:
225.01. City administrator.
Subdivision 1. Establishment of
off ce. The office of city administrator
is established.
Subd. 2. Appointment and
renoval. The city council shall appoint
the city administrator on the basis of
tra ning, experience and administrative
qualifications. The administrator may
be appointed for such period as the
city council may determine and may be
removed by the council at any time.
The council may designate a qualified
pe .son to perform the duties of the
administrator during any absence or
disability. The terms and conditions of
employment of the city administrator
shall be established by an employment
agreement between the city and the
city administrator. The terms of the
employment agreement shall super-
sede the provisions in this section on
any subject area covered by both the
employment agreement and this sec-
tion.
Subd. 3. Duties. The city adminis-
trator is the chief administrative officer
of he city and is responsible to the
council for the proper administration of
all affairs relating to the city. The city
administrator will perform all the duties
assigned by resolution, policy or as
otherwise directed by the council, and
will administer and implement the poli-
cies and procedures established by the
cot. ncil.
Section 2. This ordinance shall
become effective upon its adoption
and publication.

of Medina on the 17 day of July, 2007.
