HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 05-2014-5WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Greencastle sees the need for and
supports the provision of affordable housing to all residents with the City of Greencastle and
Putnam County, Indiana;
WHEREAS, Putnam County has established a Putnam County Housing Authority; and
WHEREAS pursuant to I. C. 36- 7- 18 -41, the Common Council of the City of Greencastle
held a public hearing, after giving due notice under I. C. 5 -3 -1, granting to all residents and
taxpayers of the City of Greencastle, and to all other interested persons, the opportunity to present
testimony, evidence and input regarding local dwelling accommodation options and the need for a
county housing authority to function throughout Putnam County and within the City of
Greencastle.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GREENCASTLE, having held the public hearing and heard evidence, hereby declares
that there is a need for the newly established Putnam County Housing Authority to exercise its
powers within Putnam County as well as within the jurisdiction of the Greencastle Housing
Authority. This Resolution shall become effective upon passage.
