A,N 013DINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE
N0. 403 OF THE` VILLAGE OF PLAIN-
FIELD, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS

W~iEREAS, a public hearing was advertised. and. held in accordance
with the statutes of the Mate of Illinois in such case made and pra-
vided and the provisions of sa~.d. Ordin.a.nce No. 403 of said. Village of
Plainfield. on the fallowing proposed amendment to said Ordinance, to-wit:
Amending said Ordinance No. 40~ by adding after ~'o.ragra,ph. ll of
Section 3 of said Ordinance, the following:
"I2~~~ Parking lots for the parking; of motor vehicles
within four hundred (400) feet Of a school, college,
church or funeral home; such. parking ~-ot.~ shall not
be used for parking motor vehicles for sale ar
for service or for parking. any motor vehicles be-
tween the houX°s of to : QD P. M. of one day and 6 : a0 A. M.
of the following day. Any person, firm or corpora-
tion desiring to establish a parking lot under th~.s
paragraph sha11 make application for a permit to
the ~'residerit and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Plainfield. Each. application shah. state .the
name of the owner of the proposed parking lot and
the s ize and lacat ion of the lot. In granting a
permit for a parking lot, the President and Board
of Trustees of the Village of Plainfield shall take
.into consideration the traffic hazards in the neigh-
borhood in which the lot is located and shall
designate where and how the entrances and exits
to and from such lot shall be made;" and

and,
WHEREAS, said. Zoning Commission ha.s heretofore filed a report
of its acts and doings in the premises and of its recommendations
as to said amendment, arid,

said amendment be adopted and that an Ordinance be passed making
said orapased amendment a part of said. Zoning Ordinance.

TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD, WILL COUNTY, ILLI1'dOl~:
Section l: That said Ordinance No. 403, of the Village of Plain-
field, Will County, Illinois, entitled "An.Urdinance requiring Permits
for Bu~.ldings, Structures and iJses, Dividing the Village into Districts,
Specifying Minimum Lot Sizes, Set Backs and Side Yards, Regulating the

Bulk of Buildings, Providing far Appeals and. Imposing .penalties", of
wh3_ch this Qrdinance is amendatory, be and the same is hereb~r amended
by adding after P~.ragraph 11 of ~ectian 3 of said Ordinance, the
fallowing:
'"12. T'arking lots for the parking of motor vehicles
within four hundred. (~00) feet of a school, college,
church or funeral home; such parking lots shall not
be used:f,or parking motor vehicles for sale ar
far service or for parking any motor vehicles be-
tween the hours of 10:00 ~'. M. of c~nP da.y and 6:00 A. M.
of the fallowing d~.y. Any person, firm ar corpora-
tion desiring to establish a parking lqt under this
paragraph shall m~.ke application for a permit to
the T'resident and Toard of Trustees of the Vill~.ge
of Plainfield., Each application shall state the
name of the owner of the proposed parking lot and
the size and location of the lot. In gr~.nting a
permit for a parking lot, the President and Bo~.rd
of 'T'rustees of the Villege of Plainfield shall take
into consider~.tion the traffic hazards in the neigh-
borhood in which the lot is located. and. shall
designate where and how the' entrances and exits
to and from such lot shall be ~x`iade."
Section 2: Validity. The invalidity of any part or section
hereof shall not effect .the val~.dity of the remainder hereof..
Section Effective Dates;. This Ordinance sha11 be in force
and effect after its passage, approval a.nd publication as required
by law.
