HomeMy Public PortalAbout08-19-2021 THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, AUGUST 19,2021 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,Indiana,met at 5:00 P.M.,August 19, 2021, in the Hutton Community Room at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. CALL TO ORDER President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson and Emily Palmer. Matt Evans was absent Also in attendance were Kim Vessels,Assistant City Attorney; Monica Burns,Deputy City Clerk; Beth Fields,Director of Infrastructure and Development; Fire Chief Jerry Purcell; and, Media via Zoom. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Ms. Palmer moved to approve the minutes of August 12, 2021, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Ms. Palmer moved to approve the Claims for Payment for August 20, 2021 in the amount of Two Hundred Eight Thousand Nine Hundred Sixty One Dollars and twenty seven cents ($208,961.27), supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT-None PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT FOR PENSION-None REQUESTS -None BID OPENINGS BID AWARDS -None CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 42-2021 —TRC ENVIRONMENTAL CORPORATION They are to perform environment assessments at 310 & 358 NW "F" Street. This work is part of the EPA funded Brownsfields Grant. Board of Works Minutes August 19,2021 Not to exceed $12,850.20. Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 103-2021 —DWYER FAMILY MEMORIALS They will furnish and install an 11" x 5" black granite monument sign with grey granite top and base at the Izzy David Edelman Police and Fire Training and Physical Fitness Center located at 1740 South 8th Street in Richmond, Indiana. Including but not limited to, the etching of the training facility's name on the monument, a 200-word poem, bronze lettering, and duplication of Challenge Coin insignia, all of which will be included on the sign prior to installation. Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. CHANGE ORDERS -None ADDENDUMS -None RESOLUTIONS -None PETITIONS -None MISCELLANEOUS • PROOF OF PUBLICATION The actual Proof of Publication for the bid opening and Public Hearing that was done at the August 5, 2021. The Board needs to entertain a motion to accept the Proof of Publication for the bid letting for the demolition of unsafe properties that was done at that meeting. Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. ADJOURNMENT After a motion was duly made,the meeting was adjourned.
