AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF GULF
STREAM, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA AMENDING CHAPTER 66 OF THE
TOWN CODE OF ORDINANCE RELATING TO ZONING AT ARTICLE VIII
SUPPLEMENTARY DISTRICT REGULATIONS, DIVISION 7 SIGNS, SECTION 66-
447 SPECIFICATIONS FOR PERMITTED SIGNS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT;
PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF GULF
STREAM, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Town Code of Ordinances is hereby amended at Chapter 66,
relating to Zoning at Article VIII, Division 7, Section 66 -447 as follows: (words
underlined are additions; words stamen are deletions).
Sec. 66 -447. Specifications for permitted signs.
Any real estate sign offering property for sale or rent may be
double -sided in design, however. It shall not exceed two square feet in
total dimension. Color of signs shall be a white background with black
lettering thereon. There shall be no raised lettering. Further, no such real
estate sign shall be extended or hung from a pole or poles, but shall be
enclosed within a metal frame, The supporting member of the frame of
the sign shall be installed into the ground to provide that the top of the
face of such sign shall not be more than four feet above the finished grade
of the ground. Real estate signs shall consist of one sign only, and there
shall be no accessory signs attached thereto or located within the frame in
which the real estate sign is enclosed. Any other sign permitted herein
shall not exceed a dimension of-si-x-two square feet, the color shall be a
white background with black lettering thereon and shall be single -sided in
design. All real estate signs must be located on the premises of the
property being advertised for sale, no such signs being allowed on the
public right -of -way or off -site. Any sign erected, displayed or maintained
in violation of this section shall constitute a violation of this chapter.
Section 2. Severability.
If any provision of this Ordinance or the application thereof is held invalid, such
invalidity shall not affect the other provisions or applications and to this end the
provisions of this Ordinance are hereby declared severable.
Section 3. Repeal of Ordinances in Conflict.
All other ordinances of the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida, or parts thereof which
Conflict with this or any part of this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 4. Codification.
This Ordinance shall be codified and made a part of the official Code of
Ordinances of the Town of Gulf Stream.
Section 5. Effective Date.
This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage on second reading
and adoption.
