HomeMy Public PortalAbout01-07-1991 - Special Meeting 52'' . PROCEEDINGS OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND. INDIANA. JANUARY 7, 1991 1 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana met in special session January 7, 1991 at the hour of 2 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers in said City. President Brookbank presided with the following 3 4 Councilmembers present: Elstro, Lundy, Hankinson, McBride, Parker, Hutton, Morris, and Paust. Absent: None.The following business was had to-wit: 5 6 ELECTION OF OFFICERS FOR 1991 7 8 President Brookbank announced that nominations would be accepted for the Offices of President and 9 President Pro-tem of the Common Council for 1991. 10 11 Councilmember McBride placed the name of Councilmember Parker in nomination for President of the 12 Common Council. The nomination was seconded by Councilmember Hankinson. 13 14 Councilmember Lundy placed the name of Councilmember Hutton in nomination for President of the 15 Common Council. The nomination was seconded by Councilmember Morris. 16 17 Councilmember Morris moved to close the nominations, seconded by Councilmember McBride and on 18 unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 19 20 Councilmember Hutton was elected as President of the Common Council by voice vote of the 21 Councilmembers with the vote being five (5)to four(4) in favor. 22 23 Councilmember Hutton placed the name of Councilmember Lundy in nomination for President Pro-tem of the 24 Common Council. The nomination was seconded by Councilmember Elstro. 25 26 Councilmember Hutton moved that the nominations be closed, seconded by Councilmember McBride and 27 on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 28 29 There having been no other nominations, Councilmember Lundy was elected as President Pro-tem of the 30 Common Council by acclamation of the Council. 31 32 President Hutton thanked Councilmember Brookbank for her service to the Council and presented her the 33 gavel used during her term. 34 35 ADJOURNMENT 36 37 There being no further business, on a motion duly made,seconded and passed,the meeting was adjourned. 38 39 40 41 42 43 44 45 Jane R.
