J a" Notes , f r& ww +ke P i ru4vr — O wr 215+k Yea r!
June 2018 marks an exciting time at the Watertown Senior Center as we celebrate
our 25th year! The ground -breaking ceremony for the Watertown Senior Center at
31 Marshall Street took place on June 11, 1993 and on June 15, 2018, we will be
hosting a party in honor of this momentous occasion. We hope you will join us. In
addition as part of our celebratory activities, all programs at the Senior Center will
be free to seniors the week of June 11-15. If you haven't been to the Senior Center
lately, stop by and try out a fitness class, sit in on a program, and learn more about
what we offer.
The Senior Center Art Show will also be on display starting Tuesday, June 12th
through the 15th. Join us on Wednesday, June 13 for the Artists' Reception and hear
about what inspired these creative works of art.
On behalf of all of the staff — Debbie, Rae, Marina,
Jim and Kathy and the Board, thank you for your
continued support of the Senior Center. It is an
honor and our pleasure to help Watertown's older
residents age well in the community.
Cheers to 25 Years!

WHEN. Wednesday, June 20 at 9.30. WHERE.•
Senior Center, 31 Marshall St. Join us to discuss
Commonwealth byAnn Patchett. Copies of the
book are available at the Watertown Free Public
Library. Bert Cousins shows up at a christening
party uninvited. Before evening falls, he has kissed
Franny's mother, thus setting in motion the
dissolution of their marriages and the
joining of two families. Spanning five
decades, Commonwealth explores how Commonwnlch
this chance encounter reverberates 0 A. ,i
through the lives of the four parents and CC etc
Ar
six children involved. Spending summers w
together the children forge a lasting bond that is
based on a shared disillusionment with their
parents. In her twenties, Franny begins an affair
with the legendary author Leon Posen and tells
him about her family and the story of her siblings.
Suddenly it is no longer hers to control, ultimately
forcing them to come to terms with their losses,
their guilt, and the deeply loyal connection they
feel for one another.
