On March 20th Spring will arrive and we are hopeful for warm, breezy days and to be done with the cold and snow!
Whether you have visited the Senior Center for a Senior Parking Permit, Income Tax Assistance, Art Classes, Movies, an
Exercise Class, Festive Party, Informative Lecture, SHINE appointment, or other resource we are always happy to see you.
Please do not let the lack of driving prevent you from participating in activities or services at the Senior Center. We have
received a grant from the Watertown Community Foundation to help you get here. Please call the Senior Center at (617)

Back by popular demand, we will be hosting our Baked Potato Bar Lunch on March 14 and a Spring Painting Activity with
Dawn Scaltreto on March 21. We will be offering a Senior CharlieCard Day at the Senior Center on March 27,
sponsored by the Office of State Senator Will Brownsberger. On March 13, please join me for a special Lunch and Learn to
discuss what it means to be an Age -Friendly community.
Looking ahead, we will be partnering with the Belmont Council on Aging who will host an
Honoring Choices workshop on April 10, where participants will complete their own Health Care SO* sws *1At
Proxy and then learn how to help others to do so, and also our Trips will open for registration. PAPIC-9 s

INCOME TAX HELP
Watertown seniors age 60 and
older of low to moderate
income can get help with their
tax preparation. Complex
returns will be referred to
private preparers. The
volunteers are not able to
prepare returns that include
income from rental properties,
trusts, and partnerships even
if they were done before.
Preparers are here on
Monday, Tuesday, and
Fridays BYAPPOINTMENT.

own Health Care Proxy form at the
Belmont Senior Center, and begin to help
others do the same! Become a volunteer
Health Care Planning Ambassador! In
partnership with the Belmont COA, we'll
supply everything you need so you can
talk with your friends, family and people
in your community about completing a
Health Care Proxy and Personal Directive.
A presentation by Honoring Choices
President & CEO Ellen DiPaola will be
followed by team meetings for each of
several volunteer hosting sites. Interested
in volunteering? Just curious? All are
welcome to attend this workshop but

1930s through the 1960s when women 4 V'

The text follows the lives of Human
Computers such as Katherine Johnson, Dorothy
Vaughan, and Mary Jackson, three
mathematicians who overcame discrimination, as
women and as African Americans, while working
at the National Aeronautics and Space
Administration during the Space Race, as well as
Christine Darden, who was the first African -
American woman to be promoted into the Senior
Executive Service for her work in researching
supersonic flight and sonic booms.
