PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR
PLANNING SERVICES
WHEREAS, there exists a need for professional services to perform planning
services in connection with COAH/Housing Element Update; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to NJ.SA40A: 1 l-5 (1)(a) professional services are exempt
from the requirements of competitive bidding; and
WHEREAS, the Local Finance Officer has certified that funds are available.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret does hereby approve the appointment of W. Thomas
Watkinson, III, Engineering and Planning, P.C., maximum cost not to exceed
$855.00 billable as per attached contract.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and Borough Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute said contract
1T IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the contract is awarded without competitive
bids in accordance with N.JSA 40A:I l-5(1)(a) due to the specialized nature of
the services provided
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that a notice of this action shall be published in the
Home News Tribune on April 20, 1999.
