May is Older Americans Month and the 2018 theme is Engage At Every Age. At the MONTH7
Watertown Senior Center, we are pleased to serve seniors of all ages with fitness - —
programs, social groups, recreational activities, trips, resources, information, and more. ENGAGE AT EVERY AGE: MAY 2018
New summer schedule! From May 22 through September 4, the Senior Center will offer Tuesday evening hours
until 7:00, and will be closing early on Fridays at 2:00. We will be following the Town Hall Summer Schedule. Watch for
additional programming and make sure to stop in on a Tuesday evening for your Senior Parking Permit and to say hello.
Mr. Jay Higgins, Constituent Services Representative for U.S. Congresswoman Katherine Clark, will be here at the Senior
Center on May 3, June 7, and July 5 from 10:30-11:30 AM to hear your concerns and answer questions. On May 11, we will
be hosting a special conversation with lunch in conjunction with MCOA (Massachusetts Association of Councils on Aging)
and the Home Care Aide Council about alcohol and substance abuse among seniors. We hope you will join us.
Looking ahead, we will be celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Senior Center with a party on June 15. The afternoon
will include lunch, music and dancing. Tickets will be available on June 4. You won't want to miss this special celebration.
Happy Birthday to all those who celebrate in May ... stay engaged as you age!

Come Meet DESTINY the Therapy Dog!
Destiny, a Labrador Retriever, has been trained as a therapy
dog. She volunteers at the Watertown Free Public Library and
Perkins School for the Blind. She and her owner, Peg
Horwitz, will be visiting us on Thursday, May 10 at 9:30 AM.

PROGRAM Prescription Advantage
Serving the Health
Insurance Needs May Help!
of Everyone
Prescription Advantage is a state -run
program which helps members pay for
their prescription drugs. It
may lower your drug co -pays
and also allows you to join or
change your Medicare drug
plan or Medicare Advantage plan.
Eligibility is based on income onlyand
there is no assetlimit! Who can join? If
you are a Massachusetts resident,
eligiblefor Medicare, and are: 65 years
or older with an annual income at or
less than $60,700 for a single person or
$82,300 for a married couple OR
Under 65 years and disabled, with an
annual income at or less than $22,823
for a single person or $30,945 for a
married couple. There is no charge
for joining Prescription Advantage, if
you have an annual income at or less
than $36,420 for a single person and
$49,380 for a married couple. There is
a $200 per person annual enrollment
fee for those with higher incomes.

PROPERTY TAX WORK -OFF
PROGRAM —Earn up to $1,500
With thanks to the Town Council, the
amount earned towards property taxes for
work in this program has been increased
from $750 to $1,500!
Applications are available at the Senior
Center or by calling (617) 972-6490.
Program begins July 1 for work in a Town
Department through March 30, 2019.
