Be Falls Free! September is Falls Prevention Month and all of us at the Senior Center encourage you to take a look
at your home for obstacles that could contribute to a fall. That cute throw rug could cause serious harm if it's not secured
firmly to the floor. Make sure your extension cords are tucked out of the way and move any furniture that could be blocking a
clear path. Consider having your vision and hearing checked and review your medications with your physician. In keeping
with home safety, Jackie Dobson will be sharing Solutions for a More Accessible Home on September 28th. We are also
offering a new Seated Exercise Class led by Pearl Pressman which can help to build strength and balance. It is offered on
Wednesday mornings.
Our September Lunch and Learn will feature a presentation by Dan Goldberg, SHINE Counselor, about what you need to
know about Medicare Open Enrollment. You won't want to miss this important morning. Attorney Dale Tamburro will be
joining us on September 20th for a presentation on all types of Trusts. A Flu Clinic has been scheduled for September 21 st
and the Mount Ida Dental Hygiene Program will be joining us on September 14th to present Strategies to Combat Dry Mouth
and to offer oral screenings
Our trips are filling up quickly. Call today to reserve your spot to the Bourne Scallop Festival or on the Western Mass
Foliage Tour —always a favorite. Enjoy these last warm days of summer.
See you at the Center,'
