START YOUR YEAR OFF HEALTHY WITH EXERCISES AT THE SENIOR CENTER
Are you looking to get back in shape after the holidays? Look no further.
The Senior Center offers several ways to do this.
Exercise classes are held on Monday and Wednesday mornings at 11:oo am and Friday morning at 10:4o am. The
cost is $3.00 a class and no preregistration is needed. The classes focus on the particular needs of seniors in a fun,
safe, environment. Exercises include muscle strengthening, light stretching, balance and posture improvement,
and low -impact aerobics; all done to your favorite tunes! Regular exercise can improve circulation, help to
strengthen bones, increase muscle mass, reduce joint stiffness, and improve general health. Plus, it's fun! Whether
it's to get stronger, loosen up, or just get moving, give it a try and join us!
Zumba Gold is our newest program and features exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and International beats.
The pace is modified to suit the needs of new members and active older participants. It is held on Tuesday morn-
ings at 9:3o am. Come check it out - you may decide to stay! It is $3.00 a class.
Line Dancing is a formation dance that reaches back into traditional folk dancing. The basics address movements
of the feet and legs and also include hand movements. Great music and lots of fun! It is also held on Tuesday
mornings and starts at 11:15 am. The cost for this class is $5.00.
Tai Chi is offered Fridays at 12:3o. Try Tai Chi to improve your balance, flexibility, reduce stress, and increase ener-
gy. The simple movements are low impact and put minimal stress on muscles and joints. Our winter session runs
January 8 - March 4. The cost for the series is $40. Not ready to commit - there's a $5 drop in fee/class. We invite
you to join us to try out a class.

2016 Medicare Part B Premium
You may have heard that the Medicare Part B premium is going up. However, this is not true
for most people with Medicare.
Most people who had their Part B premium deducted from their Social Security check last year
will continue to pay $104.90 per month. The reason is that there was no cost of living increase
in Social Security benefits for 2016 and there is a law that prevents the amount of one's benefit
check from going down. For those who were not getting Social Security benefits last year and
those who newly enroll in Part B this year, most will pay $121.80 per month.
There are exceptions based on income. All people with incomes higher than $85,000 per year
($170,000 for a couple) have higher premiums. They will pay between $170.50 and $389.80
per month for Part B, based on their income level. People with limited income and assets may
qualify for a program that will pay their premium.
Trained SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Everyone ... on Medicare) volunteers can
help you! They offer free, confidential counseling on all aspects of health insurance to anyone
on Medicare. To schedule a SHINE appointment, call your local Senior Center. For other
SHINE related matters, call 1-800-AGE-INFO (1-800-243-4636), then press or say 3. Once you
get the SHINE answering machine, leave your name and number. A volunteer will call you
back, as soon as possible.

Death, overwhelmed by the
souls he has to collect from
people in the gas chambers,
from soldiers on the battlefields, and from
civilians killed in bombings. Death focuses
on a young orphan, Liesl; her loving foster
parents; the Jewish fugitive they are hid-
ing; and a wild but gentle teen neighbor,
Rudy, who defies the Hitler Youth and con-
vinces Liesl to steal for fun. After Liesl

The book thief then writes her own story.
