PROCEEDINGS OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, JANUARY 20, 1987
1 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana met in special session with Mayor Frank H.
2 Waltermann, January 20, 1987 as the City Board of Finance. The meeting was held immediately
3 following the regularly scheduled meeting of the Common Council. Council President Brookbank
4 presided with the following Councilmembers present: Elstro, Williams, Hankinson, Whitesell,
5 Parker, Hutton, Morris and Theobald. Mayor Waltermann and City Controller Marge Sweet were
6 also in attendance. The following business was held:

10 President Brookbank announced she would accept nominations for the Chairman of the City Board
11 of Finance.

13 Councilmember Morris placed the name of Councilmember Whitesell in nomination for the
14 Chairman of the City Board of Finance. The motion was seconded by Councilmember Hankinson.

16 Councilmember Parker moved to close the nominations, seconded by Councilmember Hutton and on
17 unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

19 Councilmember Whitesell will serve as Chairman of the City Board of Finance.

21 Mr. Barden informed the Council they should authorize the City Controller, as Secretary of the
22 Board of Finance, to request proposals be submitted from financial institutions in order that the
23 Board could meet to determine the depositories for the City. Mr. Barden added that the meeting
24 to choose the depositories would need to be held prior to the third Monday in February.

26 Councilmember Hankinson moved to authorize the City Controller to request proposals from
27 financial institutions for purposes of selecting City depositories and to review the proposals on
28 February 2, 1987, seconded by Councilmember Hutton and on unanimous voice vote the motion
29 was carried.

33 There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and passed the meeting was
34 adjourned.
