As a participant you will learn: Techniques to deal with frustration, fatigue, isolation, and poor sleep. Exercises to maintain or improve strength, flexibility, and endurance. About appropriate use of medications. To better communicate with family, friends, and health professionals. Strategies on healthy eating and nutrition. How to better pace activity and rest. How to evaluate new treatments. This workshop will help you increase confidence in your ability to manage your chronic pain. Sessions are held once a week for six weeks for 2 1/z hours each. The 2014 Medicare Open Enrollment period ended on December 7, but some people may still be allowed to change plans. For those with a Medicare Advantage Plan: Between January 1 and February 14, you can leave your plan and switch to Original Medicare, but you cannot switch to another Medicare Advantage Plan. If you drop your Medicare Advantage plan during this period, you will be able to join a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan to add drug coverage. Your Original Medicare coverage and your pre- scription drug coverage will begin the first day of the month after your enrollment. You may also add a supplement (Medigap) at this time. For those with Prescription Advantage or getting "Extra Help" paying for prescription drugs: You can change your plan anytime during the year. Those with Prescription Advantage can do this only once each year. Those with "Extra Help" can change every month. Trained SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Everyone ... on Medicare) volunteers can help you! They offer free, confidential counseling on all aspects of health insurance to anyone on Medicare. To schedule a SHINE appoint- ment, call your local Senior Center. For other SHINE related matters, call 1-800-AGE-INFO (1-800-243-4636), then press or say 3. If school opening is delayed, the morning shop- ping bus run is cancelled, and Senior Center pro- grams may be cancelled at the instructor's discre- tion, so call before coming over. Eligi- bility is based on household size and the gross annual income of every household member,18 years of age or older. Household income cannot exceed 60% of estimat- ed State Median Income (see 2014 / 15 chart below.) Household of one - $32,618 Household of three - $52,691 Household of two - $42,654 Household of four - $62,727 Watertown seniors (first time applicants) may apply at he Senior center by calling 617-972-6490 to make an appointment. Individuals under age 60 may contact Community Teamwork, Inc. Fuel Assis- tance at 978-459-6161 or toll free at 1-877-451-1082. Please note: Utility companies may not shut off service to households where all residents are 65 years or older without written approval from the Department of Public Utilities.
