HomeMy Public PortalAbout05-17-1983 - Special Meetomg Octil SPECIAL MEETING PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, MAY 17, 1983 1 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in special 2 meeting May 17, 1983 at: the..:ho.ur. of 8:15 p.m. in the Council Chambers 3 in the Municipal Building in said City. President Mills presided with 4 the following members present: Messrs. .Elstro, Williams, Hankinson, 5 Welch, Parker, Carter and Paust. Absent: Ms. Henry. The following 6 business was had, to-wit: 7 8 SPECIAL MEETING CALLED FOR MAY 17, 1983 9 10 The Department of Community Development for the City of Richmond conducted 11 a public hearing to discuss an application for block grant funds under 12 the Emergency Jobs Program. This special meeting is to consider a 13 resolution authorizing the filing of that application. 14 15 RESOLUTION NO. 6-1983 16 17 President Mills announced Resolution No. 6-1983 be stricken from the 18 records. 19 20 Councilman Welch so moved, seconded by Councilman Paust and on unanimous 21 voice vote the motion was carried. 22 23 RESOLUTION NO. 9-1983 24 III25 Councilman Welch moved to suspend the rules and read Resolution No. 9- 26 1983 by title only, seconded by Councilman Hankinson and on unanimous 27 voice vote the motion was carried. 28 29 The Clerk read by title only Resolution No. 9-1983 - RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING 30 . THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION WITH THE STATE OF INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF 31 COMMERCE, FOR SMALL CITIES COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS UNDER 32 THE EMERGENCY JOBS PROGRAM. 33 34 President Mills announced a hearing was held and the only project proposed 35 is the construction of a 6,500 foot sewer in the northwest industrial 36 area.
