HomeMy Public PortalAbout20110714 finance minutesCITY OF JEFFERSON Finance Committee Meeting Thursday, July 14, 2011 MINUTES The meeting was called to order by the Finance Committee Chairman, Councilman Rich Koon at 8:10 AM. Councilmen Koon, Bray, Pope and Weber as well as Councilwoman Carroll were present. The next item on the agenda was a review of the Committee Meeting minutes from May 12, 2011. A motion to approve was made by Councilwoman Carroll, seconded by Councilman Weber. The minutes were approved unanimously. The next item on the agenda was a review of the July Sales Tax Report. The Finance Director briefly went over the report. The next item on the agenda was a presentation by the H.R. Director regarding several Transit System reclassifications. Mrs. Strope explained the changes that are being requested. There were several questions and discussion ensued. The committee recommended that these reclassifications be forwarded to the full Council. Moved by Councilman Weber, seconded by Councilwoman Carroll and approved unanimously. The next item on the agenda was a presentation by Charlie Lansford regarding a request by a number of vets to offset the effects of having a working vet in the Animal Shelter’s operation. Questions and discussion ensued. The next item on the agenda was a brief presentation by the Director of Wastewater, Eric Seaman, regarding several questions that were raised by several Councilmen. Some discussion ensued but further discussion was put off to the next meeting. New Business – The Finance Director briefly referenced the upcoming Budget Committee Meeting schedule. There was no Old Business to be discussed. A motion to adjourn was made by Councilman Weber, seconded by Councilman Bray. Adjournment took place at 8:16 AM.
