Home My Public Portal About20110811 finance minutesCITY OF JEFFERSON Finance Committee Meeting Thursday, August 11, 2011 MINUTES The meeting was called to order by the Finance Committee Chairman, Councilman Rich Koon at 7:55 AM. Councilmen Koon, Bray, Pope as well as Councilwoman Carroll were present. The next item on the agenda was a review of the Committee Meeting minutes from July 14, 2011. A motion to approve was made by Councilman Bray, seconded by Councilman Pope. The minutes were approved unanimously. The next item on the agenda was a review of the August Sales Tax Report. The Finance Director briefly went over the report. The next item on the agenda was a presentation by the Interim City Counselor regarding some proposed ordinance changes. Some discussion ensued and it was proposed by Councilman Pope, seconded by Councilwoman Carroll to move these changes to the City Council. It was approved unanimously. The next item on the agenda was a discussion about the sewer system. Some questions were asked regarding the St. Martins’ participation in our sewer system. Discussion continued on the matter. The committee asked for a report by staff discussing what might be needed to control our maintenance of the existing sewer system in St. Martins. Eric Seaman will present a report on the current system and some historical perspective at the next Finance Meeting. New Business – Councilwoman Carroll announced that Bill Betts presented a report on the electronic record keeping system at the Council’s Administration Committee Meeting earlier this week. There was no Old Business to be discussed. A motion to adjourn was made by Councilman Bray, seconded by Councilman Pope. Adjournment took place at 8:22 AM.
