HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-05-1982 1.5 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, APRIL 5, 1982 1 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular 2 session April 5, 1982 at the hour of 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers 3 in the Municipal Building in said City. President Mills presided with 4 the following members present: Messrs. Elstro, Williams, Ms. Henry, 5 Hankinson, Welch, Parker, Carter and Paust. Absent: None'. The 6 following business was had, to-wit: 7 8 DEVOTIONS 9 10 Councilman Welch gave devotions. 11 ' 12 APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF MARCH 15, 1982 - 13 14 Councilman Hankinson moved to approve the minutes o.f the previous 15 meeting as prepared,seconded by Councilman Welch and on unanimous 16 voice vote the motion was carried. 17 18 WELCOME TO NEW COUNCILWOMAN 19 20 President Mills welcomed Councilwoman Robin Henry as a new member of 21 Council. 22 23 REPORT OF BOARD. OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY 24 25 Councilman Elstro asked if the City has a plan for cleaning the city of 26 trash. He pointed out trashy alleys and the Promenade. There is a 27 city-wide cleanup planned for the week of April 19 and hopefully, 28 the citizens will respond to the cleanup request. 29 30 Councilman Williams noted a 'chuck hole on North 8th across the 31 railroad track by Acme Pattern Shop. Councilman Carter pointed out 32 many chuck holes in the .City and requested Revenue Sharing money be 33 used to fill these holes. 34 35 NEW STANDING COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS 36 ' 37 President Mills announced Jim Hankinson will be Chairman of the 38 Transportation, Community Development & Community Service Committee 39 with Robin Henry serving on that committee. Robin Henry will also 40 serve on the Parks & Recreation, Public Safety & Public Works & 41 Sanitation Committee as well as the Committee of the Whole & Finance. 42 Bing- Welch will serve as Liaison to the Park Board. 43 44 REPORT ON ORDINANCE NO. 7-1982 454 " 46 President Mills announced Mr. Greg O'Maley, Attorney representing 47 Ordinance No. 7-1982, asked this Ordinance be held.
