A Regular Meeting of the Mayor and Council of the Borough of
Carteret was called to order by Mayor Daniel J. Reiman, Thursday,
May 21, 2015, 6:00 P.M., in the Council Chambers, Memorial
Municipal Building, 61 Cooke Avenue, Carteret, New Jersey.
Upon Individual Roll Call Vote the following were noted present:
Councilmember Vincent Bellino
It Jorge Diaz
It Dennis DiMascio
" Susan Naples
Joseph W. Sitarz
Noted Absent was Council President Randy Krum.
Also noted present was Kathleen M. Barney, Municipal Clerk and
Robert J. Bergen, Law Director.
The meeting was opened with a minute of silent prayer and the
Pledge of Allegiance led by Mayor Daniel J. Reiman.
The Clerk stated that on January 5, 2015 the 2015 Annual Notice
was mailed to The Home News Tribune, The Star Ledger and
posted on the Bulletin Board. Notice was published in the Home
News Tribune on January 7, 2015 and in the Star Ledger on
January 8, 2015.

2015 Local Minidpal PUBLIC HEARING: 2015 Local Municipal Budget.

Upon MMS &C by Councilmembers Diaz and Bellino and
unanimous affirmative vote of the five (5) Councilmembers
present the Public Hearing on the 2015 Municipal Budget was
open to the public.
There were no comments from the public.

Upon MMS &C by Councilmembers Sitarz and Bellino and
unanimous affirmative vote of the five (5) Councilmembers
present the public portion on Resolutions /Agenda Items and New
Business was opened to the public.
There were no comments from the public.

Mayor Reiman read the following resolutions into the record: R�Cw>
RESOLUTIONS:
1. #15 -110 Adoption of the 2015 Municipal Budget.
2. #15 -111 Directing the Issuance of Various Raffle Licenses.
3. #15 -112 Approving Fireworks for Independence Day
Festival, Latin Festival and Ethnic Day Festival.
4. #15 -113 Appointing Special Law Enforcement Officers
(SLEO 1 & 11).
5. #15 -114 Approving Additional Members /Properties for the
Special Improvement District.
6. #15 -115 Opposing 5 -1987, Superintendents' Salaries.
Mayor Reiman explained that in reference to Resolution #15 -115, #%1.5or Rd=, Re:
there is currently a cap that was put into place a few years ago
that capped Superintendent's salaries at $175,000.00. He said the
Senate wants to eliminate the CAP so that districts across the
state can start bidding on these Superintendents again and said
this will go to the Assembly and he expects the Governor will veto
this and said he put this resolution on to support a CAP on
Superintendents' salaries.
Mayor Reiman then asked for a motion on the Consent Agenda.
Resolutions #15 -110 thru #15 -115 were introduced by the Mayor MINI'
and referred to the Council for action.

Diaz Resolution #15 -115, "Opposing S -1987, Superintendents'
Salaries ".
Council President Krum was noted Absent.
PAYNENF OF BILLS Upon MMS &C by Councilmembers Diaz and Bellino, all bills
appearing on the prepared list, properly audited and signed, were
ordered to be paid. Upon Individual Roll Call Vote,
Councilmember Bellino, Diaz, DiMascio, Naples and Sitarz voted in
the Affirmative. Council President Krum was noted Absent.

COMMITTEES:
BUILDINGS & GROUNDS: Committee Chairperson Naples
reported the department is preparing for Memorial Day
observations and general maintenance. She said the Disability
Awareness Committee asked her to thank Arnold and the rest of
the department for doing a wonderful job setting up.
FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION: Committee Chairperson Diaz
reported Progress.
FIRE & DOMESTIC PREPAREDNESS: In the absence of Committee
Chairperson Krum the Mayor reported Progress.
PARKS, RECREATION & PUBLIC PROPERTY: Committee
Chairperson Bellino reported Progress.
POLICE: Committee Chairperson Sitarz reported Progress.
PUBLIC WORKS: Committee Chairperson DiMascio reported
Progress.
BOARD OF EDUCATION: Committee Chairperson Naples reported
that May 30 is the Carteret Conquers Cancer Walk. Sign up is at
8:00 A.M. at the Middle School.
After no further discussion, upon MMS &C by Councilmembers ADJOLRV )
Sitarz and Diaz and unanimous affirmative vote of the five (5)
Councilmembers present the meeting was Adjourned at
approximately 6:03 P.M.
