PROFESSIONAL SERVICE CONTRACT FOR
ENGINEERING SERVICES
WHEREAS, there exists a need for engineering services for Phase II of the Sewer
Separation Contract; and
WHEREAS, engineering services are a a professional service exempt from the
requirement of public bidding pursuant to N.J S.A. 40A: 11-5 (1) (a); and
WHEREAS, the Local Finance Officer has certified that funds are available.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret does hereby approve the appointment of Killam Associates. at
a maximum cost not to exceed $12,000.00 billable as per attached rate schedule.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and Municipal Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute said contract
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the contract is awarded without competitive
bids in accordance with NJ.SA 40A:11-5 (1) (a) due to the specialized and
professional nature of the services provided.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that a notice of this action shall be published in the
Home News Tribune on April 20, 1999.
Adopted this 15th day of April, 1999
and certified as a true copy of the original
on April 16, 1999.
