PROPERTY TAX CANCELLATION
WHEREAS, on May 12 and May 13, 2015, certain properties were
charged interest on taxes due to late payments received by the
Tax Collection Office, and
WHEREAS, the Borough Tax Office has recently relocated from 20
Cooke Avenue to 100 Cooke Avenue, and the post office has
acknowledged that this moved has caused an extensive delay of
the mail delivery service, and
WHEREAS, the Tax Collection Office is requesting that the =
penalties and interest associated with the post office delays
be removed and our taxpayers be made whole in this instance
only.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, New Jersey, that the
Tax Collector cancels interest, penalties and taxes as follows:
