Minutes of the January 9 , 2020 Meeting
Members Present : Lisa Forhan, Diane Pansire, Sarah Robinson, Ned Chatelain, Ralph Marotti,
Vanessa Greene
Guests Present : None
1 . Call to Order : Meeting called to order .
2 . Approve minutes of previous meeting : Minutes from the December meeting were
approved .
3 . Updates from Housing Coordinator : As Jill Scalise could not attend the meeting,
a written update was provided to the Committee . Ned reported that at the recent
post institute wrap -up it was reported that the Affordable Housing Trust was
working on a housing rehab program . Details of that program were discussed .
Diane discussed the need for additional outreach and information on the Accessory
Dwelling Unit by-law . Ned noted that he had spoken to the head of the
Homebuilders Association who agreed to distribute if there was a flyer . Ralph noted
that it could also be discussed on television and via e -mail blasts . Outreach to 1
realtors was also discussed but the Partnership noted it would be good to continue
that . Lisa noted that the Partnership could dedicate a future meeting to an
information session and have someone from the Town come to handle the technical
aspects of the by- law. Ned and Vanessa will work to put together a flyer for future
review. The Partnership will consider coordinating a public information session in
May or June either at their regularly scheduled meeting or at a housing fair .
Discussion continued on the technical requirements of the ADU by-law and the
Partnership ' s charge in regards to outreach and publicity .
4 . Annual Report Discussion : Lisa requested information from the Partnership on what

they want included on the Annual Report. The following suggestions were made for
inclusion ,

➢ Huckleberry Clean-up Coordination
➢ Participation in the Community Housing Forum
➢ Eastward Companies proposed 40B Letter of Support
➢ Habitat for Humanity proposed 40B Letter of Support I
➢ Continued televising Brewster Housing Partnership meetings
➢ Thank yous to the Town employees that have assisted the Partnership
➢ Public educational presentations : HAC program and MCI program
➢ Joint meeting with the Housing Trust
➢ Letter of support for Housing Coordinator position j
5 . Standing Updates : Ralph noted that the CPC sub- committee has not met since the
previous meeting although a meeting is in the works . Sarah reported that the BAHT

is working on the rehab program and preparing for the third community housing
meeting .
6 . Items not reasonably anticipated by the Chair : Diane noted that there was an
unfulfilled seat on the Housing Authority and that there will be two seats coming up
for election. She recommended that the Partnership members consider running if they
are interested .
