HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-10-1978 - Special Meeting 433 SPECIAL MEETING PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, OCTOBER 10, 1978 III1 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana met in special session 2 October 10, 1978 at the hour of 7:30 p.m. in the Richmond City Court Room 3 in the Municipal Building in said City. President Austerman presided with 4 the following members present: Messrs, Elstro, Williams, Ahaus, Mills, 5 Carter, Paust and Welch. Absent: Councilman Merchanthouse. The following 6 business was had, to-wit: 7 8 A prayer was given by President Austerman. 9 10 The purpose of the special session was to consider Ordinance No. 87-1978. 11 12 The Clerk read on second reading Ordinance No. 87-1978 - AN ORDINANCE TO 13 APPLY A PERMANENT M-2 HEAVY MANUFACTURING ZONING CLASSIFICATION TO PROPERTY 14 ANNEXED BY ORDINANCE NO. 38-1978, AS PROVIDED UNDER ARTICLE 14.06 OF THE 15 ZONING ORDINANCE AND CHAPTER 22 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF 16 RICHMOND, WAYNE COUNTY, INDIANA. 17 18 Mr. Robert Goodwin, Director of the Plan Commission, reported that the Plan 19 Commission voted unanimously to rezone the annexed property to M-2 Heavy 20 Manufacturing. 21 22 Mayor Clifford Dickman welcomed Chrysler Corporation to the City of Richmond 23 and praised their investment in our community. 24 25 Councilman Mills moved to engross Ordinance No. 87-1978, seconded by 26 Councilman Williams, and on unanimous voice vote, the motion was carried. 27 28 Councilman Mills moved to suspend the rules and read Ordinance No. 87-1978 29 on third and final reading by title only, seconded by Councilman Ahaus and 30 on unanimous voice vote, the motion was carried. 31 32 The Clerk read on third reading by title only. 0rdinance No. 87-1978. 33 34 Ordinance No. 87-1978 was placed on final passage or rejection and on a. 35 call of the roll, the following was recorded: Ayes: Elstro, Williams, 36 Ahaus, Mills, Carter, Paust, Welch and Austerman. Noes:, None. The vote 37 being eight (8) to zero (0) in favor of passage of, Ordinance No. 87-1978. 38 39 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and passed, the 40 meeting was adjourned. 41 42 Thomas L.
