HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 88-01 TC1 RESOLUTION NO. 88 -01TC A RESOLUTION OF THE TRAFFIC COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY ADOPTING A RULE OF PARLIAMENTARY PROCEDURE THE TRAFFIC COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The Traffic Commission finds and determines that it is common practice in this and other cities to adopt routine motions by the so- called "no objection" method, i.e., where the Chairman, after stating the motion made and sec- onded, asks whether there are any objections and, if none are so voiced, declares the motion unanimously carried. SECTION 2. The Traffic Commission further finds and declares that such procedure is advantageous and expedites meetings, thereby avoiding lengthy roll calls or voice votes SECTION ::3,..__,The Traffic Commission further finds and determines that each ,Commissioner who has subscribed his /her name hereto consents to ttie " -fdle herein set forth. SECTION 4. ' "The Traffic Commission, therefore, offi- cially declares that every Commissioner consents to said "no objection" method of adopting motions, and further agrees that failure to raise an objection at the proffered time shall be construed to be,- and shall be entered upon the Minutes as a "yes " or affirmative vote on the motion. SECTION 5. Any Commissioner may in writing rescind the authority granted hereby. SECTION 6. The Secretary to the Traffic Commission shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
