HomeMy Public PortalAbout2018-03-15 Bicycle - Funds Watertown Town Council Administration Building 149 Main Street Watertown, MA 02472 Phone: 617-972-6470 RESOLUTION # 24 2018 – R – 24 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ACCEPTANCE AND EXPENDITURE OF GIFTS OF FUNDS WHEREAS: From time to time, this community is the beneficiary of a gift donated toward improving the quality and spirit of its inhabitants lives; and WHEREAS: The Watertown Police Foundation has offered to make contributions in an amount not to exceed $5,000, for the purpose of acquiring two mountain bicycles and name tags for each officer of the Watertown Police Department; and WHEREAS: The two mountain bicycles would be regular non-electric bicycles to supplement the two electric bicycles already used by the Bicycle Patrol; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED: That the Town Council of the City known as the Town of Watertown, hereby accepts and appropriates, pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 44, Section 53A, monetary gifts in the amount not to exceed $5,000 generously donated by the Watertown Police Foundation. _________________________________________________ Council Member I hereby certify that at a Meeting of the Town Council for which a quorum was present, the above Ordinance was adopted by a vote of __or, __ against, __ present on March 15, 2018 _______________________________ ____________________________ Marilyn W.
